Mother Mae Francis Harrell Mainor of 1015 Seven Spring Drive, Cordele, Georgia died Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, February 4, 2024 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Mother Mae Francis Harrell Mainor was born in Dooly County, Georgia on October 22, 1925.  She was the daughter of Ms. Della Harrell.

Her early childhood education was obtained from the public schools of Dooly County.

Early in life she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior.  She united with the Bay Point CME Church in Byromville, Georgia.  For many years she was a faithful member of the Odum Grove Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.  She later joined the St. James Baptist Church.

Always a hard worker, she was known throughout her life for the love she shared in caring for her family and others.  Aside from the farm work and house work, she had a passion for cooking and was known for her "green thumb."

Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Nelson James Mainor, Sr.; her children, Ms. Fannie Mae Harvey and Mr. Samuel James Mainor; and her brothers, Mr. Willie Frank Harrell and Mr. O. C. Harrell.

She leaves precious memories to her loving and devoted children, Reverend Nelson James Mainor, Jr. (Melinda), Mr. Bennie Lee Mainor (Brenda), and Ms. Marilyn Williams of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Earnest Mainor (Loraine) of Albany, Georgia, Mrs. Eddie Jean Brown (Johnny) of Cordele, Georgia, and Ms. Sara Ann White of Warner Robins, Georgia; 44 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a host of great, great grandchildren; her beloved nephews, Mr. Herman Harrell Jackson of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Willie Randolph Harrell of Orlando, Florida, and Mr. Freddie Pittman (Bernice) of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many, many sorrowing friends.
