Obituary

Mother Lucile Foster Daniels of Decatur, Georgia, formerly of Cordele, Georgia, died Monday, January 19, 2026, at her residence.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Crisp County Middle School Gymnasium in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Macedonia Church Cemetery, Drayton Community, Vienna, Georgia.

Mrs. Lucile Foster Daniels was born on June 28, 1925, in Leslie, Georgia, to the late Mr. Jessie Foster and the late Mrs. Annie Bell Smith Foster.

At an early age, she accepted Christ as her personal Savior and united with     Welcome Baptist Church in Americus, Georgia. Later, she joined Macedonia  Baptist Church of the Drayton Community in Vienna, Georgia, where she served faithfully for many years. Mrs. Daniels was a devoted missionary member who faithfully carried out her church responsibilities with love and dedication. She also served as the Mother of the Church until her health no longer permitted her to continue. A true pillar in her community, she selflessly supported countless families and played an instrumental role in nurturing and helping to raise many children. Her guidance, wisdom, and compassionate spirit left a lasting impact on generations.

Mrs. Daniels was united in holy matrimony to the late Mr. Damon Daniels, Sr. from this union, seven children were born.

She was preceded in death by one daughter, Lilla Daniels Bell; her brothers, Leonard Foster and Bobbie Lee Foster; and her sister, Jessie Bell Foster Cameron. She was survived by her beloved son, Damon Daniels, Jr., who peacefully transitioned one day following her passing. He answered his mother's call and followed her home to glory.

Mrs. Daniels leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters, Ms. Annie Daniels Gordon of Decatur, Georgia, and Ms. Minnie Daniels of Decatur, Georgia; three sons, Mr. Willie Daniels of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Charlie Daniels of Lithonia, Georgia, and Mr. Leonard Daniels (Gerolyn) of Ellenwood, Georgia; son-in-law, Mr. Bedarius Bell, Sr. of Gainesville, Georgia; daughter-in-love, Ms. Justine Daniels of Atlanta, Georgia; eighteen grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives, and sorrowing friends.
