Mother Mary Bell Reeves Doster of 409 West 13th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at her residence.

The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
From the beginning of her life, Mary Bell Reeves Doster exemplified pure love. Born to the late Nathaniel Reeves, Sr. and the late Alice Taylor Reeves on October 31, 1938 in Wilcox County, GA, Mary brought a sense of hope and joy as she grew from day to day.
The seeds of education were planted in her life as she attended the public schools of Wilcox and Crisp County. After moving to Cordele, she went on to attend the Gillespie-Selden Institute.
Blessed with a heart of caring, Mary realized early that one of her greatest blessings would be her ability to love and care for others. Through her work at the Crisp County Hospital/Crisp Regional Healthcare Service, she cared for many patients of this community.
Committed and willing to serve the Lord with a humble heart, Mary accepted Christ as Lord of her life. She united with the Odum Grove Baptist Church and served faithfully in many capacities of the church. Along with being a member of the Mothers Board, she had served as President of the Senior Choir, a member of the Usher Board, a member of the Women's Fellowship and member of the Mission Board. Mary's life was committed to service and she never waivered in her love for the Lord and for her Odum Grove family.
Mary met a man who captured her heart and together they would raise a family. The man, Clemmie Doster, married Mary and together they would share their lives until his passing on February 11, 2008.
On Wednesday, July 20, 2022 she moved from her old house to her brand new home. Her daughters, Shirley Ann Doster Broadie and Santa Marie Doster, precede her in death. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Bernice Reeves Kellogg, Minister Roy Reeves, Sr., Betty Ruth Brown, and Nathaniel Reeves, Sr.
