Mother Jessie Bell Harrison Spivey of 371 Grove Street, Byromville, Georgia, died Thursday, January 8, 2026, at her residence.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Byromville, Georgia. The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.
Mother Jessie Bell Harrison Spivey was born on December 6, 1935, in Macon County, Montezuma, Georgia, to Mr. Zedie Harrison and Mrs. Mamie Allen Harrison. Her educational journey began in the public schools of Macon County, where she laid the foundation for a life filled with faith, love, and community service.
Mother Spivey accepted Christ as the Lord of her life and served as a member of the Mount Pleasant Travelers Rest C.M.E. Church. She was a faithful, active, and supportive worshipper. Her devotion to her faith extended to her involvement with Mount Olive Baptist Church, where she was a cherished member of the congregation. Her spiritual commitment was a guiding light in her life, inspiring those around her.
On December 21, 1952, she married the love of her life, James T. Spivey. Together, they built a loving home and nurtured a family filled with warmth and affection. Her passion for cooking brought joy to her family and friends, creating countless cherished memories around the dining table.
On Thursday, January 8, 2026, Mother Jessie Bell Harrison Spivey transitioned from this life. Her life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family, and she will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her children Mrs. Frances Spivey Thomas and Mr. Danny Spivey, and her siblings Mrs. Annie Buckholts, Mr. Bobby Harrison, Mr. Charlie Harrison, Mrs. Mildred Tuff, Mr. Douglas Harrison, Mrs. Zettie M. Hankerson, Mr. Charles Harrison, and Mr. James Harrison.
She is survived by her beloved and devoted husband, Deacon James T. Spivey, Sr., of Byromville, Georgia; her loving and caring children: Mr. Larry Spivey of Unadilla, Georgia; Mr. James T. Spivey, Jr. of Byromville, Georgia; Mr. Jeffery Spivey (Edna) of Unadilla, Georgia; Mr. Bobby Spivey (Wynelle) of Warner Robins, Georgia; and Ms. Victoria Spivey of Byromville, Georgia. Her unconditional love extended to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom she dearly cherished. Additionally, she leaves a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends who will forever cherish her legacy of resilience and love.
