It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louise Butts Burges. Ms. Burges was born December 23, 1930 in Desoto, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Mr. Jessie Butts and Mrs. Lillie Mae Butts.

At an early age, Ms. Louise Burges gave her life to Christ and became a devoted member of Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church. Ms. Louise was a woman of many passions. She could be found with a fishing rod in hand one day and tending to her plants the next. You could always hear her talking about tickets, whether it be a Greyhound ticket or a lottery ticket. But her greatest joy came from spending time with her family.  Her infectious laughter and vast number of funny stories were sure to brighten any gathering.  We'll remember Ms. Louise Burges for her zest for life, her kind heart, and the twinkle in her eye whenever she spoke of a fond memory. Ms. Burges was predeceased by two daughters, Mrs. Rudene Dennis Sheppard and Ms. Annette Dennis both of Cordele, Georgia; two grandsons, Mr. Jeffery Sheppard and Mr. Prince Sheppard of Cordele, Georgia; five brothers, Mr. Albert Butts, Mr. Jessie Butts, Mr. Curtis Butts Sr., Mr. Zonnie Butts, and Mr. Robert Butts of Cordele, Georgia; and two sisters, Mrs. Bobbie Mae Feagen and Mrs. Mary Hudson of Cordele, Georgia.

Ms. Burges leaves to mourn her passing three sons, Mr. William Henry Dennis Jr., Mr. Robert Charles Dennis, and Mr. Eddie Dean Dennis all of Cordele, Georgia; three daughters, Ms. Mattie Gwyn, Ms. Doris Dennis, and Ms. Elizabeth Dennis all of Cordele, Georgia; thirty-seven grandchildren and a multitude of great grandchildren;  three sisters, Mrs. Jessie Mae Sanders (Clarence), Ms. Lucinda Gordon, and Mrs. Melba Ruth Carter of Cordele, Georgia; many nieces and nephews; many cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
