Obituary

Mother Grace Adams Patrick of 1612 South Tenth Street, Cordele, Georgia died Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, January 13, 2024 at 3:30 PM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Chapel in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Mother Grace Adams Patrick resided at 1612 South 10th Street, Cordele, Georgia. She entered her eternal rest on January 3, 2024 at 10:47 PM at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele,  Georgia.

She was born in Cordele, Georgia to the late Deacon Bob Adams and the late Mother Sarah Farrow Adams.  During her lifetime she worked as a nutritionist in the Crisp County School System. She also worked as a private caregiver to the elderly and the young.  She possessed a very caring attitude toward people which allowed her to love the work she did.

She was the member and served as the Mother of the Beautiful Zion Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.  Reverend Lorenda Ray serves as the pastor.

She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and was a renowned member of the NAACP.

Her farm life was very exciting to her; she treated animals as if they were her children.  She expressed her love for the animals that were in her care.  Caring for flowers was another passion that she endeavored after her retirement.  She was the instructor of the Senior/Junior choir.  Many people would gather to hear her sing at the churches where the performances would take place.

She will be missed and remembered as an outstanding person.  The lover of her life was the Deacon Obie Patrick who  preceded her in death along with her two children, Jerry Savage, Sr. and Autry Mae Patrick.  She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Membrish, Robert, Doshia, Annie, and Clara.  Grace peacefully heard, "The Master's Call" on January 3, 2024.  As she made her departure she leaves to cherish her memories, her children:  Mrs. Clara Woodard of St. Petersburg, Florida, Abdul-Karim Ali (Raushanah) of St. Petersburg, Florida, Samuel Savage (Francis) of Barlett, Illinois, Arthur Lee Patrick of Melbourne, Florida, Mrs. Sheila Patrick-Butts (Robert) of Cordele, Georgia, Lorinza Patrick (Angie) of  Canada; her  goddaughter, Dr. Vera Jones Giddens & family of Shingler, Georgia; her godson, Reverend Quinton Thomas (Helen) & family.   Also left to continue her legacy are 29 grandchildren; 91 great grandchildren; nine great, great grandchildren; two great, great, great grandchildren; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  God bless our "Mary's Baby".
