Mr. Morris Jerome Coley, Sr. of 601 North 1st Street, Cordele, Georgia died Friday, August 30, 2024 at the Gwinnett Northside Hospital in Lawrenceville, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 7, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services must wear a mask and practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Morris Jerome Coley, Sr. was born September 27, 1963.  He was born to Robert Lee Coley and Annie Mae Lewis Coley in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.

Morris was educated in the public school system of Crisp County.  He was a graduate of Crisp County High School.  After the completion of high school, he continued his education at the Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College in Tifton, Georgia, where he earned a degree in Criminal Justice.  Throughout his career in law enforcement with the City of Cordele, he earned other certifications and completed other training as a Police Officer.

A committed Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Morris enjoyed fishing and grilling ribs. He loved spending time with grandchildren and watching his Soap Operas, "The Bold & the Beautiful" and "The Young & the Restless". The Andy Griffin Show, CHIPS, Family Feud, and COPS were also some of his favorite television shows.

On Friday, August 30, 2024, Morris said goodbye to this life.  His parents, along with his brothers, Ira Coley, Sr. and    Robert Lee Coley, Jr., and his uncles,  John Lewis and Ossie B. Coley, each    preceded him in death.

He leaves many special memories to his loving and devoted children, Morris Jerome Coley, Jr. of Lawrenceville, Georgia,   Tasia Tiwon Coley of Atlanta, Georgia, and Taneysha Danielle Coley-Holmes of Cordele, Georgia; his beloved grandchildren, Zaria, Jayden, Cameron, Lea, Ja'niyah, Jordyn, Ja'leah, Tristen, Josiah, and Braylen; his caring sisters, Rosalind McDonald of  Sanford, Florida; his beloved brothers, Graylin Coley of Cordele, Georgia and Norris (Donetta) Coley of Atlanta, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, June (Barbara) Coley, Rose Felton and Geraldine Lewis all of Cordele, Georgia, Eugene Pittman of Detroit, Michigan, Carrie Mae Young, JoAnn Coley and James Coley all of Cleveland, Ohio, and Dorothy Lester of South Carolina;  a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include Loyd Anderson of Cordele, Georgia.
