Minister Nile Eugene Yearby, Sr. of 114 Melody Lane, Americus, Georgia passed away Monday, March 3, 2025, at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 9, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 7, 2025, from 4:00 - 8:00 PM, at St. John Lodge, 132 Bumphead Road,  Americus, Georgia.

Minister Nile Eugene Yearby, Sr. was born on March 29, 1967, in the town of Americus, Georgia, to parents Celestine Yearby and Charlie Snead. Growing up in Americus, Nile received his education from the Sumter County School System, laying the foundation for a life dedicated to learning and community service.

From a young age, Nile exhibited a deep commitment to his faith. He was an active member of the Allen Chapel A.M.E. Church, where he participated in various roles, including the Young People's Division (YPD), singing in both the youth and adult choirs, and serving as an usher. His spiritual journey expanded as he later became a member of the Americus Holiness Deliverance Temple. Under the mentorship of the late Overseer Rosa K. Fowler, Nile assumed the roles of deacon and eventually a minister, demonstrating his fervent dedication to his faith.

Nile's ministry work continued with his leadership roles at Love and  Mercy Outreach in Butler, Georgia, and Buena Vista Outreach Ministry in Buena Vista, Georgia, where he served as an associate pastor. His passion for serving others and commitment to his community left a lasting  impact on those he served.

On February 7, 1988, Nile began a blessed marital journey with Alice M. Walton Yearby. Their marriage was a testament to their mutual love and respect, exemplifying a life centered around family and faith.

Beyond his spiritual and family commitments, Nile was known for his professional work as a truck driver, where he was affectionately called "DREAMMAKER" by his colleagues in the trucking community. His work ethic and dedication shone through in all he did, leaving a lasting impression on those around him.

Nile's life was marked by a unique blend of faith, family, and fun. He had a passion for WWE wrestling, a pastime that brought joy and excitement to his days. His uplifting spirit, commitment to faith, and love for his family and community have left an indelible mark that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.

Minister Nile Eugene Yearby, Sr. went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 3, 2025.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Celestine Yearby, and his father, Charlie Snead. Nile's life was a testament to unwavering faith, love for his family, and dedication to serving others. His impact on his community and loved ones will be remembered and cherished forever.

His legacy lives on in the hearts of his loving wife, Alice M. Walton Yearby of Americus, Georgia;  his son, Nile E. Yearby, Jr. of Americus, Georgia; his daughters, LaTauria Jackson of Washington, DC and JaQuise J. Yearby of Americus, Georgia; his grandchildren, Elijah and Shykayla Jackson of Washington, DC; his  sister, Stacy D. Yearby of Perry, Georgia; his uncles, Tom Yearby, Jr. of Americus, Georgia and Robert Sneed (Francis); a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
