Minister Avery Dale Strutchen of 2003 South Hickory Street, Cordele, Georgia, died Friday, August 15, 2025, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of First Albany Deliverance Cathedral in Albany, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Dunk Smith Cemetery in Doerun, Georgia.

Minister Avery Dale Strutchen, a man whose life was a testament to his unwavering faith and devotion to his family, was born on April 10, 1962, in Eastman, Georgia, to S. M. Strutchen and Lois Montford Strutchen. A graduate of Dodge County High School, Avery pursued a life of service and ministry, marked by his commitment to sharing the love of the Lord with all who crossed his path.

Avery's 20 year journey of service culminated with his training as a CERT Sergeant at Pulaski State Prison, where he also became a proud member of the Pulaski State Prison Peace Officers Association. His commitment to his faith led him to become a Licensed Minister of Evangelical Faith Vision Ministry, a Pinned Disciple of New Men In Christ Fellowship, and a dedicated member of the Godhead Family Fellowship. He was a pillar of the First Albany Deliverance Cathedral in Albany, Georgia, where he served humbly and diligently as Chairman of Deacons and Head of Security.

Guided by his personal motto, "I exalted the Lord with all that was within me because Jesus is so worthy," Avery's life was a shining example of devotion and grace. His love for the Lord was only rivaled by the love he held for his family. Avery was married to the love of his life, Bobbie Ann Strutchen, with whom he shared a profound and enduring bond.

Minister Avery Dale Strutchen departed this life on Friday, August 15, 2025, at his residence, leaving behind a legacy of faith, love, and service. In remembering him, we celebrate a life well-lived, a spirit that inspired, and a soul that found its rest in the Lord. His legacy of love and faith will continue to illuminate the hearts of those he loved and served.

He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Bobbie Ann Strutchen of Cordele, Georgia; his cherished children, Willie Mae Fedd and Abram Gates of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Shekette King (Mark) of Moultrie, Georgia; his 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren;  his sister, Vernette Strutchen of Fort Mill, South Carolina; his brothers, Elijah Strutchen of Eastman, Georgia, Johnny Strutchen of Atlanta, Georgia, James A. Strutchen and  Alvin Strutchen, both of Eastman, Georgia; his in-laws, Sebrena Fulks (James), Shekette King (Mark), and Demple Orr (Maurice); a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends, including Mike Townsend of Cordele, Georgia, Eddie  Jefferson of Albany, Georgia, and Royce & Patricia Hobbs of   Cordele, Georgia.
