Mr. Melvin Middlebrooks of 309 Crumpler Avenue, Unadilla, Georgia died Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the Crossview Care Center in Pineview, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Evergreen Cemetery in Unadilla, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Mr. Melvin "Ninny" Middlebrooks was born on March 31, 1941 in Unadilla, Georgia to Oscar Sr. and Mattie Bell   Middlebrooks.

He attended the Dooly County School System. He worked as a farmer and truck driver for the majority of his adult life.

"Ninny," as he was affectionally known by his family and friends,  loved listening to and recording music on his tapes.  He enjoyed playing checkers and eating (especially sweet potato pie).

On Thursday, September 22, 2022 he transitioned from this life.  Four of his siblings went on before Melvin, a sister, Ruby Helen "Sook" Jenkins and three brothers,  Henry Edward "Coot" Middlebrooks, Jr., Oscar "Buddy" Middlebrooks, Jr., and Tommie "Tutt" Middlebrooks.

He leaves behind five handsome sons:  Kenny Eunice of New York, Melvin Eunice, Tracey Fluellen and Kenny Fluellen of Unadilla, Georgia, and Earnest Bernard Middlebrooks of Warner Robins, Georgia; nine grandchildren, Earnest Middlebrooks, Jr., Eris Middlebrooks, Elani Middlebrooks, England Middlebrooks, Ezra Middlebrooks, Tremayne Middlebrooks, Trauacey Middlebrooks, Jada Fluellen, and Jateria McClendon; a loving sister, Mamie "Baby Ruth" Collins (Ralph) of Paterson, New Jersey; a  loving and devoted sister, Johnnie "Jeek" Middlebrooks of Unadilla, Georgia; a very close brother, Cab Callaway  Middlebrooks of Pineview, Georgia.

He will be greatly missed by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  Ninny had a close hand with his nephew, Jackie Middlebrooks.
