Mrs. Melissa Ann Fletcher Haugabrook of 101 Plantation Road, Cordele, Georgia, died Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Melissa Ann Fletcher Haugabrook, a beautiful individual with a compassionate heart, was born on December 23, 1967, in Crisp County, Georgia. She was the cherished daughter of  Minnie Fletcher and Andrew Brown, Jr. Raised in the supportive community of Crisp County, Melissa was educated in the local public schools and proudly graduated from Crisp County High School in 1986. She furthered her education by earning a degree in Business and Office Management from South Georgia Technical College.

Melissa was a devoted believer in Jesus Christ, and her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. She was actively involved in her "Class of 1986" activities, cherishing the connections and memories formed with her classmates.

Melissa found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She had a love for gardening, reading, and the tranquility of the beach. Traveling brought her immense joy, as did spending quality time with her beloved family - her mother, daughters, and sisters. With a passion for nature, shopping, and decorating, Melissa's creative spirit was evident in all she did.

Melissa was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Brown, Jr. She peacefully transitioned on Tuesday, July 29, 2025,  leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness.

Melissa's spirit will continue to inspire all who knew her, as her love and compassion remain etched in the hearts of those she left behind, to include her loving and devoted husband, Alfred C. Haugabrook of Cordele, Georgia; her beloved and adored daughters, Chassidy Letrease Haugabrook and Shardasiah Haugabrook; her loving mother, Minnie Fletcher of Cordele, Georgia; her grand dogs, Demi and Dallas; her  caring siblings: Tyrone Fletcher (Vanessa), Brenda Greene (Winfred) of Cordele, Georgia, Etta Fletcher of Riverdale, Georgia, Dr. Katrisha Williams (Michael) of Cordele, Georgia, Valerie Bateman (Jasper) of Cordele, Georgia, Tracy Brown of Columbus, Georgia, Minister Preston (Stacy) Brown of Albany, Georgia, Denise Holloman (Matthew) of Cordele, Georgia,Patricia Mason (Raynard), Kelvin Brown (Loretta) of Salinas, California, Ashley Brown of Cordele, Georgia, Leon Brown (Diane) of Cordele, Georgia, and Kellie Fletcher of Jacksonville, Florida; her nieces, nephews, in-laws, many  cousins, and a vast circle of friends, to include her special friends, Gwen Smith of Henderson, Georgia, Iris Jones of  Kathleen, Georgia, and Marcia Adetomiwa of Cordele, Georgia,  who were touched by her warmth and generosity.
