Mrs. Mary Windom Spencer of 310 West 1st Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Monday, July 31, 2023 at the home of her daughter in Albany, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Monday, August 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your own mask.
As the world was preparing for the close of a year, the union of Mr. Elize Windom, Sr. and Mrs. Rilla Mae Telfair Windom was welcoming to the world a beautiful gift from the Lord. They were blessed with the birth of a daughter who they named Mary on December 31, 1950.
Mary was enrolled in the public schools of Crisp County where she attended the A. S. Clark High School.
She accepted Christ as Lord and Savior of her life. She faithfully worshipped at New Birth Tabernacle Church in Vienna, Georgia. Mary believed in the Lord and she believed in fellowshipping with the people of God
Mary was an excellent cook. She enjoyed cooking. When not in church or cooking at home, she could be found selling produce at the Cordele Farmer's Market. She enjoyed seeing old friends and meeting new ones as they shopped at the market.
On Monday, July 31, 2023, the cares of this life were eased from her soul. Mary is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mr. Charles Windom, Sr., Mr. Isiah Windom, Sr. and Ms. Vivian Windom.
Memories will live in the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Mr. Tommy Davis of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Cedric Windom of Douglasville, Georgia, Mr. Kelvaski Windom of Macon, Georgia, Ms. Makeeba Cunningham and Ms. Terrica Spencer both of Albany, Georgia; 11 grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her loving sisters, Mrs. Gloria (Clarence) Sias of Miami, Florida, Ms. Eva Windom of Milledgeville, Georgia, and Mrs. Carrie (Sidney) Floyd of Las Vegas, Nevada; her caring brothers, Mr. Elzie Windom, II of Miami, Florida and Mr. Anthony (Libby) Windom of Jacksonville, Florida; her sisters-in-law, Mrs. Johanna Windom and Mrs. Neat Windom both of Cordele, Georgia; a beloved uncle, Mr. Augustus Telfair, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include Ms. Rebecca Toomer of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Earnestine Johnson of Warner Robins, Georgia, Overseer Annie Reynolds and Pastor Vanester Dobbins of Vienna, Georgia, and Ms. Maria Windom.
