Mrs. Mary Lee Wilkerson Douglas was born in Americus,  Georgia on July 7, 1947, to the parentage of the late Obie Wilkerson Sr. and the late Mittie Lee Dowdell Wilkerson. Mary was the youngest of eight children and received her education in the public schools of Sumter County. After graduation, she married the love of her life, Hollis Douglas Sr., with whom she shared 58 beautiful years of marriage.

A devoted member of Old Shady Grove Baptist Church in the New Era Community, Mary served faithfully on the Usher Board until her health no longer permitted. Her unwavering commitment extended beyond the church, as she dedicated nearly 30 years of service to Collins & Aikman.

Mary will be remembered for her gentle and humble spirit, her radiant smile, and her deep love for bringing people together. She found true joy in cooking, gardening, and serving others. With every meal she prepared, she shared not just food, but love—nourishing the hearts of her family, friends, and community alike. Her legacy is one of warmth, generosity, and grace, and it lives on in all who were blessed to know her.
