Ms. Martha Mae Hayes affectionately known as "Ma Mott" of 922 Pateville Heights Circle, Cordele, Georgia died Friday, March 29, 2024 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, April 4, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Ms. Martha Mae Hayes was born March 29, 1947 in Leslie, Sumter County, Georgia.  She was born to the parentage of the late Mr. Joe  Henry Hayes and the late Mrs. Charlie Mae Porter (Lenbell) Fredrick.  Martha received her education in the public school system of Crisp  County and Job Corps for Women in Omaha, Nebraska.

She was a born caregiver.  "Ma Mott" as she was affectionately called, possessed a heart full of love for the elderly.  It gave her great joy to help others.  She also loved walking and you would see her walking all over town.  Shopping and riding were also amongst her favorite things to do.

On Friday, March 29, 2024, her 77th birthday, she received the most  precious gift of all, a peaceful transition from this life to life eternal.  While our hearts are saddened that she is no longer here, we take comfort in knowing that she is reunited with her parents, her daughter, Ms. Rosalia Hayes; her grandson, Mr. Carsaveon Marquez Harvey, and her brother, Mr. James Holloman.

She leaves to cherish her memories three loving and caring daughters, Mrs. Vera Rotanda Hayes-Everett of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Regina Michelle Hayes (Chris) of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ms. Marion Tamika Hayes of Hinesville, Georgia; her beloved grandchildren, Mr. Samtaevious Trevon Roundtree of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. A'Kasha Briana Wedges, who she reared, of Hinesville, Georgia, Mrs. G'Quesia Ly'Chielle Rivera (Thomas) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Carlencia Monifa  Evans of Cordele, Georgia, and Mr. Ralphael Rivera (Winniford) of Atlanta, Georgia; her great grandchildren, Kayleigh Harris (Nukienuk), Kayden Harris, and Koah Herman of Hinesville, Georgia, Thomas O.
