Obituary

Ms. Marilyn Mainor Williams of 213 West 24th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia passed away Saturday, December 7, 2024 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services must wear a mask and practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

Marilyn Monroe Mainor Williams was born in Crisp County, Georgia, on December 21, 1956,  She traded the cares of this life for an eternal rest on  Saturday, December 7, 2024.  She was the daughter of  Johnnie Lee Turner and Mae Francis Harrell Mainor.

She grew up in Crisp County and attended Crisp County High School.

A believer in Jesus Christ, Marilyn enjoyed worshipping at Odum Grove Baptist Church and St. James Missionary Baptist Church.

Marilyn enjoyed playing cards, reading, solving word puzzles, and listening to music. She her loved her family and enjoyed bringing joy and laughter to those around her. Her vibrant spirit and warm personality will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.

Marilyn leaves fond memories to her loving and devoted family:  her children, Curtis Williams and Amanda (Keith) Ford of Cordele, Georgia; nine grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; her sisters, Eddie Jean Brown and Sara Ann White of Cordele, Georgia, Patricia McKellar, Cynthia Turner, Dorothy Manning, and Jennifer Turner of Oglethorpe, Georgia; her brothers, Reverend Nelson (Melinda) Mainor, Jr., Bennie (Brenda) Mainor, Sr., and Earnest (Loraine) Mainor of Cordele, Georgia, Will E. Clark of Montezuma, Georgia, Willie Randolph Harrell of Orlando, Florida, and Herman Jackson of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces,   nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include  her best friend, Windale Brown of  Atlanta, Georgia.

Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Fannie Mae Harvey and Samuel Mainor.
