A kind and loving spirit was welcomed to this world on March 31, 1954 in Warwick, GA with the birth of Mamie Elizabeth Walker. A beautiful blessing, she was born to the late James T. Walker and Jimmie Lee Thomas.
She received her educational foundation in the public schools of Worth County where she was a J. W. Holley High School graduate. She did further studying at Albany Technical College, Albany, GA.
As a child she was baptized and dedicated her life to Christ at the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church in Warwick, GA. After uniting in holy matrimony to her beloved husband, Samuel, she joined Greater Friendship Baptist Church. Over the years she supported him and his work in the ministry as First Lady of Blue Springs Baptist Church, Warwick, GA, Mt. Able Baptist Church, Desoto, GA, and Ebenezer Baptist Church, Vienna, GA. She was never ashamed to give God praise for all of His many blessings.
Her life's journey holds so many precious memories. We will forever remember her favorite quote, "Call your lovely Mother!" and "This is your lovely Mother!" She loved family and she cherished the moments spent with her grandchildren whether around the house or on family vacations. Dressing up and shopping were also among the things she enjoyed doing. Whether formal or casual she took pride in always looking her best. In the most peaceful moments of her life, she enjoyed reading her Bible and taking long walks with her husband. She also enjoyed watching the Hallmark channel.
On Wednesday, October 16, 2024, she traded the cares of this life for an eternal rest. She is also preceded in death by her siblings, Geraldine Williams, Bruce Thomas, Walter Thomas, Jr., and Randy Walker; her daughter-in-law, Exandria Stokes; and her in-laws, David Stokes, Sr., Lewis Charles Stokes, Jr., Alfonzo Stokes, and Rosell Cross, Sr.
