Mr. M. C. Coley of 22 Anderson Lane, Pitts, Georgia, died Friday, June 12, 2026, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held on Sunday, June 21, 2026, at 12:00 Noon in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Pine City Church Cemetery in Rochelle, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
Mr. M. C. Coley (Doc) was born April 15, 1941, in Rochelle, Georgia, to the late Mrs. Pearlean Coley and the late Mr. Ike Coley.
He was educated in the Wilcox County school system at an early age, where he attended Excelsior High School.
For many years, he worked in the logging industry and the chemical industry. His previous employers include Clary Logging Company in Seville, Georgia, Martin Resources in Rochelle, Georgia, and Lamb Well Drilling in Rochelle, Georgia.
M. C. treasured his family. He enjoyed laughing and talking about old memories he shared with them. He also enjoyed listening to old music and talking about a dance he used to love, called "The Four Corners". He was a shining light, a beacon to those he met, and a ray of sunshine to all that he knew. He was the true definition of a father, companion, friend, brother, grandfather, and uncle.
On Friday, June 12, 2026, M. C. departed this life while a patient at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Pearlean Coley and Ike Coley; his sisters, Lorene Glee and Francis Mae Grace, and his brother William "June" Coley.
M. C. leaves to cherish his memories, three sisters, Olene Coley of Pineview, Georgia, Mattie Rene Coley, and Julia Mae Powell of Albion, New York; his brother, Ray (Debra) Coley of Rochester, New York; his sister-in-law, Ida "Lou" Coley of Rochelle, Georgia; four children, Jessie (Mary) Jackson of Rochelle, Georgia, Cathie (Calvin) Youngblood of Pitts, Georgia, Debbie (James) Woods of Valdosta, Georgia, and Beverly (Don) Dennard of Ashburn, Georgia; nine grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; two great, great grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends. Also his devoted sister, nephew, and niece, who were there for him at all times until death, Olene Coley of Pineview, Georgia, James Grace of Pineview, Georgia, and Diane Coley of Cordele, Georgia; a lifelong companion and common law wife, Willie Bell Lawson of Pitts, Georgia. He also reared Lacey Lewis of Pitts, Georgia, from birth as a son/grandson.
