Obituary

Mr. Lindburgh Daniels, Jr. of 632 May Road, Rochelle, Georgia, died Friday, August 8, 2025, at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Piney Grove Baptist Church in Rochelle, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Piney Grove Cemetery in Rochelle, Georgia.

Lindurgh Daniels Jr., age 75, passed away on August 8, 2025 at the Willson Hospice House in Albany, Georgia. Lindburgh Daniels Jr. was born to the parents of Lindburgh Daniels Sr. and Rosa Lee Smith on October 18, 1949 in Rochelle, Georgia. Both parents preceded him in death, in addition to his brother, Tyrone Daniels Sr. and his son, Lindburgh Daniels, III. Lindburgh was the embodiment of diligence, commitment and love.

As a young father, he joined the railroad to provide for his young, growing family and remained employed for almost two decades. Following his retirement from the railroad, he became employed at then Doster's Warehouse, now Olam Peanut Shelling Company Inc., for over three decades. Lindburgh was a skillful mechanic who loved fixing literally anything, especially cars. He also enjoyed watching television, listening to music, and collecting guns.

Beyond his work, Lindburgh was a man of few words but had a heart of gold.  Lindburgh is survived by his cherished wife, Mary Alice Daniels of Rochelle, Georgia; his children, Horace Daniels of Rochelle, Georgia, Beatrice (Bernard) McRae of Columbia, South Carolina, Phillip Marshall of Rochelle, Georgia, Steven Lewis (Karomekia) of Hampton, Georgia, Jackie Daniels (Keia) of Albany, Georgia, Cristy Daniels of Dudley, Georgia, Lennie Williams (Nakita) of Abbeville, Georgia, Patrick Lewis of Albany, Georgia, Greg Lewis of Fitzgerald, Georgia, Lenoris Daniels (Jessica) of Centerville, Georgia and Jasmine Daniels of Rochelle, Georgia, 34 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren;  three siblings, Charles Smith (Sylvia) of Rochelle, Georgia, Issac Smith of Rhine, Georgia and Rosa Curry of Rochelle, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
