Linda Diane Jones, a beacon of unconditional love, comforting strength, and steadfast devotion, peacefully transitioned to her eternal reward on Thursday, May 21, 2026. Born into a foundation of love, she was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Johnny J. Jones and Linda Gail Jones.

Diane was a proud 1989 graduate of Sumter County Comprehensive High School. Upon graduation, she chose a career path fully dedicated to nurturing and serving children. For 30 remarkable years, she served as a dedicated school nutritionist for the primary school division of the Sumter County Board of Education. In addition to her full-time career, Diane was a familiar, friendly face at Carter's Fried Chicken in Dawson, Georgia, where she welcomed customers with her signature warmth for over 17 years. Her work ethic and readiness to help anyone around her defined her professional life.

Diane found her faith at a young age and confessed Christ at the Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church. Her servant spirit and profound love for God led her to many years of active devotion. Rooted deeply in family, faith, and service, she faithfully served on the Usher Board and stood ready to assist in any capacity needed within the church.

Beyond her dedication to her career and church, Diane's love for others was beautifully reflected in every role she held in life. Possessing an  incredibly willing spirit and a generous heart, she was a giving mother who poured endlessly into her children, a cherished grandmother, and a deeply caring presence to her entire family. As a uniquely supportive friend, she was remarkably reliable—always there whenever needed.

In addition to her parents, Johnny and Linda Gail Jones, Diane was   preceded in death by her grandparents: Raymond Bullard, Lula Bullard, R. T. Jones, and Savannah Jones and her uncle, Kenneth Jones.

Her legacy of love and beautiful memories will forever be cherished by her loving family, which include her children, Shantressa Wilson and Rashun Jones, both of Americus, Georgia; her grandchildren, Iviana Wilson of Americus, Georgia; Dinari Oliver of Fitzgerald, Georgia; and Raylee Jones of Americus, Georgia; her brothers, Charles Jones of Cobb, Georgia; Jamie Baker and Chris Baker, both of Americus, Georgia; her aunts and uncles, Raymond Bullard, Jr. of Cobb, Georgia; Rosetta Laster (James) of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Minnie Caple of Brooklyn, New York; Bonnie Bullard of Vienna, Georgia; and Tracie Pitts of Americus, Georgia; a special cousin, Norma Mays (Ronnie) of Americus, Georgia; her close and faithful friends: Tarsha Carter, Chala Deriso, Cierra Hawkins, Carolyn Hurley (John), and Melissa Walker, all of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
