Mrs. Linda Gail Bullard Jones of 1141 Cobb Cheek Road, Cobb, Georgia died Saturday, November 16, 2024 at the Phoebe Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at 4:30 PM in the sanctuary of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cobb, Georgia. The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.
Linda Gail Jones was born in Eatonton, Georgia on August 9, 1950 to the parentage of Raymond Bullard, Sr. and Lula Parham Bullard. She was the third child born to their union. Linda was raised in Sumter County, Georgia.
She received her education in Americus, Georgia where she was a graduate of the Sumter County High School Class of 1968. She furthered her education at South Georgia Technical School and earned her Practical Nursing degree in 1971.
Linda worked as a LPN at Sumter Regional Hospital in Americus, Georgia for many years. She retired from the Tog Shop in Americus after working for over 25 years. She had also been employed by Thomas Harrell BBQ for over 20 years.
Linda accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in Cobb, Georgia. For many years she served as President of the Usher Board.
Not only was Linda a loving mother to her children and grandchildren, she was a faithful and hard worker for many years. She had a passion for cooking, fishing and dancing.
She is preceded in death by her brothers, Arthur Bullard, Sr. and James Bullard. Her sister, Nona Mae Bullard also precedes her in death.
Left to cherish her memories, she leaves a devoted and loving son, Charles F. Jones; a loving daughter, Linda Diane Jones; nine loving grandchildren, Rashun Jones, Shantressa Wilson, Charles Jones, Jr., Charlesia Jones, Charleston Jones, Taybius Mercer, Ja'Kneeca Mitchell, and Sakeida Mercer; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Bullard, Jr. (Anna); four sisters, Mecca Bacon (Julius), Joy Harden (Derrick) Tracy Pitts, and Virginia Bullard; one uncle, Charles Parham (Martha) of Eatonton, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Bonnie Bullard of Vienna, Georgia; many loving family and friends, to include, Norma Mays, Phyllis Wright, and Mary Jane Clark.
