Mrs. Lessie Lee Felder Royal of 1908 Crisp Street, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, April 14, 2024 at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, April 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

With great joy in their hearts, the late Eddie Felder, Sr. and the late Essie Mae Folds Felder, welcomed the birth of a daughter, whom they named  Lessie Lee.  She was born January 26, 1932 in Dooly County, Georgia where received her childhood education. She was the granddaughter of Hardrick & Nettie Folds and Rich Coes & Mamie Felder.

As a testament of her love for Christ, she united with the Pleasant Valley Baptist Church.  Her commitment to the Lord was evident as she served as an Usher,  member of the Mission Board, and member of the church choir.

A loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, she was affectionately known to her immediate family by her nickname, "Sug".  Her sisters and brothers lovingly called her "Sister."

"Miss Lessie" as she was known, was employed by the Crisp County School System.  For 33 years she worked as a Cook at  J. S. Pate Elementary School.  When not cooking, she found great joy and peace working in her yard.

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, the one who added joy to our lives, received her victory when she completed her earthly journey.  Her husband, Robert Royal, Jr. and her siblings,  Mamie Lee Bryant, Evelyn Cantrell, Essie Lee Henderson, Eddie Felder, Jr., Robert Felder, Jessie Felder, John    Felder, and Clyde Bryant, also precede her in death.

Memories of her life will be cherished by her children, Shirley McCray, Vivian R. Mercer (Troy) and Rufus Royal of Cordele, Georgia; her grandchildren, Jason McCray of Atlanta, Georgia, Jontavius Royal, Precious Royal, and April Rolle of Cordele, Georgia, and Brandon Killings of Warner Robins, Georgia; 14 great grandchildren; her brothers, Willie James Felder (Maria) of Riviera Beach, Florida and LeRoy Felder (Cynthia) of St. Marys, Georgia; her brothers-in-law, James Lee Cantrell of Riviera Beach, Florida and Raymond Royal (Gloria) of Albany, Georgia; her sisters-in-law, Lois Felder of Augusta, Georgia, Pearl Felder and Harriett Felder of Riviera Beach, Florida, and Rosetta Wallace of Fitzgerald, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins, to include, Annie Eva Wallace of Pinehurst, Georgia, Earlene Coes Lester and Dora Dennard of Vienna, Georgia, and Frankye W. Burnell of Cordele, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include her special friends, Mother Lillie Mathis and Mother Lucile Daniels.
