Mr. Leroy Bass, III of 911 South 11th Street, Cordele, Georgia died Friday, August 5, 2022.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 20, 2022 at 4:00 PM in the A. S. Clark Auditorium on the campus of the M. D. Whitest Medical Institute in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
On July 29, 1988 a bouncing baby boy was welcomed to this world. Born in Charleston, South Carolina, Leroy Bass, III was born to Avis Thomas Williams and the late Leroy Bass, Jr.
Affectionally known to his family and friends as Jay, he was educated in the public school system. He was a proud 2006 graduate of Crisp County High School.
A believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ, he worshiped at Victory Church in Norcross, Georgia.
Jay will always be remembered for his caring spirit and his infectious smile. He was a loving son, caring father and a loyal brother who loved and valued family ties.
On Friday, August 5, 2022 he left this life. Along with his father, he is preceded in death his grandparents, Mr. John Lee Thomas and Mrs. Minnie Lee Thomas; his aunt, Mrs. Latoshia Wright and his uncle, Mr. Eric Thomas.
His life and the joy he imparted will forever be cherished by his precious daughters, Caliah Bass of St. Paul, Minnesota and Soleiah Barner of Cordele, Georgia; his loving mother and caring stepfather, Mrs. Avis Williams and Mr. David Williams of Cordele, Georgia; his loving sisters, Ms. Latoria Bass (Lacourtez Banks) of Opelika, Alabama and Ms. Shabrika Rouland of Cordele, Georgia; his caring brothers, Mr. Martavius Bass and Mr. Devin Williams both of Atlanta, Georgia; his beloved grandparents, Mr. Leroy Bass, Sr. and Mrs. Joann Bass of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Mr. Tchaikousky and Mrs. Sonya Thomas of Blackshear, Georgia, Mr. Cedric Thomas and Mr. Lexx Wright both of Unadilla, Georgia, Mrs. Gracie Thomas of Clarksville, Tennessee, Mr. Robert Manning of Montezuma, Georgia, Mr. Mark and Mrs. Collie Walker of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Shenita and Mr. Michael Bridges of Dallas, Texas, Mr. Anthony and Mrs. Gail Richardson of Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Ms. Pamela Washington of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Catina and Mr. Malcolm Coney of Canton, Georgia, Mr. Tony and Mrs. Teresa Alexander, Mr. Gary Bass and Ms. Francine Green all of Cordele, Georgia; his nieces, nephews, and cousins, Mr. Malik Banks of Opelika, Alabama, Ms. Alana Bass and Ms. Brittney Alexander both of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Ashley and Mr. Bernard Ball of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mr. Marquis Bass of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Tony and Mrs. Alexis Alexander of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mr. Donald Clemons, Jr., Ms. Clarissa Thomas, and Mr. B. J. Thomas all of Atlanta, Georgia, and Ms. Erika Thomas of Waycross, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
