Mr. Lawrence Albert Johnson of 113 Stonewall Drive, Americus, Georgia died Sunday, May 22, 2022 at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Eastview Cemetery Pavilion in Americus, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
Mr. Lawrence Albert Johnson was born on August 1, 1949 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia. He was born to the parentage of the late L. J. and Emma Johnson.
He graduated from Americus High School. He retired from Saint Trucking Company and Bo Wiley Trucking Company.
At a young age he joined Mount Olive Baptist Church. He served faithfully until his health failed. He always put God first.
On Sunday, May 22, 2022, he transitioned from this life to life eternal.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Mrs. Georgie Johnson of Americus, Georgia; his children, Mr. Walter Mable of Americus, Georgia and Mr. Jessie (Karen) Mable of Albany, Georgia; four grandchildren, two of whom he raised as his own, Mr. Justin Mable and Mr. Malik Mable; five great grandchildren; one brother, Mr. James Johnson of Americus, Georgia; one sister, Ms. Joyce Johnson of Americus, Georgia; six sisters-in-law, Mrs. Willie (Jessie) Bateman, Ms. Ola Lyles, Ms. Johnnie Lyles, Mrs. Patricia (David) Bell all of Americus, Georgia, Mrs. Dorothy (James) Hamilton of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Mrs. Evelyn (Jimmie) Asberry of Ellaville, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Johnny (Patricia) Mable and Mr. Charles Cooper, Sr. both of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include his devoted friend, Mr. Jarod Heath.
