Ms. Lawanda Faye Felton of 130 Garden Terrace, NW, Milledgeville, Georgia, died Friday, April 3, 2026, at Atrium Health Navicent Baldwin in Milledgeville, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 1:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your mask.

Lawanda Faye Felton was born on February 4, 1967, in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.   Affectionately known to everyone as "Bo," she was the cherished daughter of Jerry L. Lewis and Rosa May Felton.

Bo's early years were marked by a strong sense of community and faith. She was baptized at County Line Baptist Church, setting the foundation for a life dedicated to service and spirituality. A proud graduate of Crisp   County High School in 1986, she pursued her passion for helping others by earning her Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) certification while working at Cordele Health and Rehab in Cordele.

Lawanda's commitment to care extended over 25 years, during which she served as a Supervisor, Team Leader, and Case Manager at River Edge Health & Rehab and Central State Hospital. Her dedication and leadership were evident in every role she held, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues and patients alike.

After moving to Milledgeville, Lawanda became an active member of Green Pasture Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James Harris. Her journey of faith continued as she served diligently at Faith Christian Fellowship Ministry with Pastor James Harris, Jr.

Bo was an athlete at heart, having played high school basketball with great enthusiasm. Her love for sports extended to her unwavering support for the Pittsburgh Steelers, cheering them on with pride. She was also a proud member of the "Big Dean" A's Softball Team in Cordele, Georgia.

Family was the cornerstone of her life. She was adored by her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, and everyone cherished her special fried chicken. Her vibrant spirit brought laughter and joy to every family gathering, making her an irreplaceable presence.

Lawanda had an unparalleled sense of style and loved wearing make-up, which she wore with unique flair. She found joy in music, spending     countless hours listening and singing, filling her home with melodies that resonated with love and happiness.

Lawanda's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and faith. Her laughter, kindness, and spirit will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Lawanda Faye Felton transitioned on April 3, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love and laughter. She was preceded in death by her  parents, her sister Geraldine Lewis, and her beloved grandparents Jimmy & Elnora Felton and A. Z. & Viola Walker, among other dear family members.

Lawanda leaves behind a family who will continue to cherish her memory: her sons, Fredrick Thomas and Jermarian Felton of Milledgeville, Georgia; her grandchildren, Tykerria Thomas and Braylon Thomas; her goddaughters, Anita Hall and Janice Thomas of Milledgeville, Georgia; her sisters, Greta Mosley of Milledgeville, Georgia, Barbara Freeman of Cordele, Georgia, and Teresa Lewis of Jacksonville, Florida; her brother, Johnny B. Felton of Greensboro, North Carolina; her aunts and uncles, Geraldine  Lewis of Cordele, Georgia, Eugene Pittman of Albany, Georgia, and Arthur Quarterman of Cordele, Georgia; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends.
