Mrs. Katie Bell Hardy Jackson of 118 Moon Street, Plains, Georgia died Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Piedmont Columbus Regional Hospital - Midtown in Columbus, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, January 30, 2022 at 3:30 PM at the Lebannon Cemetery in Plains, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Ms. Katie Bell Jackson was born Saturday, March 27, 1943, to the parentage of the late Mr. Sammie Hardy and the late Mrs. Eva L. Kitchens.

Her commitment and dedication to God was to lead a righteous and holy life.  It was her utmost desire to please the Lord. She was a kind leader with great integrity and a genuine love for others.  Katie was a faithful and dedicated member of the St. John AME Church where she served as Church Treasurer and Stewardess.

Katie retired from Textron Automotive Exteriors following 25 years of service.

Ms. Jackson was preceded in death by two brothers, Deacon Este Jackson and Mr. George S. Hardy.

Her memories will forever be cherished by her loving children, Elder Designate Marcus Jackson of Marietta, Georgia and Ralph Moses Jackson of Americus, Georgia.

Three sisters including a devoted sister, Mrs. Annie L. McGhee (Allen) of Columbus, Georgia, Ms. Joann Green of Americus, Georgia, and Ms.  Mary Ellen Davis of West Palm Beach, Florida and one brother, Mr. Joe Kitchens, III of Port Saint Lucie, Florida.

Four grandchildren, Janetta Wallace, Shantae Wallace, Angela Wallace, and Tiffany Wallace all of Americus, Georgia; three great grandchildren, Kentravious Wallace, Jacoby Mann, and Jaylin Mann all of Americus, Georgia.

A devoted niece, Mrs. Cheryl Ford (Calvert) of Phenix City, Alabama.

Godchildren, Alexis McGhee of Dallas, Texas and Reverend  Jeffrey Tullis (Daphana) of Acworth, Georgia.

Devoted friends:  Ms. Helen Ogburn, Ms. Wanda Jordan, Mr. Chuck Hill, Ms. Rusha Gardner, Ms. Charlene Anthony, The Gardner-Wakefield Family, St. John A.M.E Church Family, and her Textron/Collins & Aikman Family and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other sorrowing relatives and friends.
