Mr. Jon William Sherwood, Jr. of 306 North 4th Street, Cordele, Georgia died Sunday, July 23, 2023 at his residence.

Jon William Sherwood, Jr. was born August 29, 1964 in Bennington, Vermont.  He was the son of Ann Marie Baker and Jon William Sherwood, Sr.

Jon was a Catholic.  He was a graduate of Mount Anthony Union High School.

Jon was a hardworking man who loved hanging out with his friends, listening to music and dancing. He loved his dogs and was huge Minnesota Vikings and Penn State fan.  Watching television, especially "On Patrol Live" was a favorite pastime.

He passed away on Sunday, July 23, 2023.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his Grandma Pratt.

Left to cherish his life, he leaves his wife, Raylene C. Brown of Cordele, Georgia; his children, Victoria Ackley and Brandi Sherwood both of Cordele, Georgia; his son-in-law, Antonio Montford of Cordele, Georgia; five grandchildren, Alexandria Ackley, Sariah Montford, Kendall Montford, Aalyiah Harmon, and Kayleigh Harmon all of Cordele, Georgia; an adopted son, Braedyn Carroll of Warner Robins, Georgia; a sister, Susan Manuel of Vermont; three brothers, George Sherwood of Pennsylvania, Mike Sherwood and Chris Sherwood both of Vermont; his sisters-in-law, Carol Sherwood of Vermont and Pamela (Giles) Dewolf of Pennsylvania; his mother-in-law, Dorothy Brown; his father-in-law, Raymond Gilmore Brown; a special friend who he regarded as a brother, Eddie Carr of Cordele, Georgia; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

The funeral service will be announced at a later date pending the completion of the arrangements.
