Our beloved, Mr. Johnny Lewis was born on July 21, 1943 in Crisp County, Georgia. He was the son of Mr. A. Z. Walker and Mrs. Viola Mae Lewis Walker. They both preceded him in death.
He received his education in the public school system. Early in his life he accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Cross Road Baptist Church.
For over 30 years he was employed at Cordele Uniform as a Custodian. He was a dedicated employee until the company's closing. Over the years he met and became acquainted with many people.
A loving father and grandfather, it was always evident that he loved his family and people in general. There was no bigger Atlanta Braves fan and whether they won or lost, he was always pulling for his favorite team. He loved fishing and cooking on the grill. Johnny didn't play about his cars either; he believed in keeping them clean.
On Saturday, November 11, 2023 our hearts were broken because we had to say goodbye to our beloved husband, father, and grandfather. We will forever remember the many special memories shared as a family.
His memory will forever live in the hearts of his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Geraldine West Lewis of Cordele, Georgia; his loving and devoted children, Mr. Christopher Bernard Fenn and Ms. Varnesha Lorraine Lewis both of Cordele, Georgia; 19 beloved grandchildren, to include a special granddaughter, Miss Sykerria S. Lewis, who lived in the home; 26 great grandchildren; his loving sisters, Mrs. Christeen (Reverend Joseph) Haugabrook of Cordele, Georgia and Ms. Addie Shields of Fayetteville, North Carolina; his caring brothers, Mr. David (Genese) Walker of Cordele, Georgia, Mr. Willie (Bernadette) Walker of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Mr. Michael Walker of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; his uncle, Mr. Robert Walker of Opa Locka, Florida; his brothers/sisters-in-law, Mr. Eugene Arnold of Unadilla, Georgia, Mr. Melvin (Dorothy) West of Miami, Florida, Mr. Willie James (Gloria) West of Henderson, Georgia, Mr. Coleman (Tracy) West of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mrs. Willie Lou (Authur Lee) Turner of Albany, Georgia, Ms. Doris Lester and Ms. Evelyn West both of Unadilla, Georgia, and Mr. Eugene (Fannie) Pittman of Albany, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Mr. Roy Bass of Cordele, Georgia and a host of other good friends.
