Mrs. Joe Ann Jackson Kerr of 719 West 15th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Sunday, June 15, 2025, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Beulahland Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Mrs. Joe Ann Jackson Kerr, a cherished member of the Cordele, Georgia community, was born on February 2, 1951, to the late Mr. John Jackson, Sr. and Mrs. Clara Mae Jackson Carr. She peacefully transitioned from this life to life eternal on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
Joe Ann spent her formative years in Cordele, where she attended A. S. Clark High School. From an early age, she was an active member of Beulahland Baptist Church, contributing her talents by singing in the choir.
Her dedication to service extended beyond her church as she was a member of the Valorette Social and Civic Club, where she engaged in numerous community activities.
Professionally, Joe Ann was devoted to education. She worked for many years with the Crisp County Board of Education before transitioning to a teaching position at Fort Valley State Pre-K. Her commitment to educating young minds continued until her retirement in 1998.
Joe Ann was united in holy matrimony with the late Mr. Roosevelt Clark. She later found love again and married the late Mr. Charles C. Kerr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Mrs. Bonnie M. Shorter and Mr. John Jackson, Jr.; grandparents, Bob and Sarah Adams; and several aunts and uncles, including Mrs. Grace Patrick, Mrs. Annie Brown, Mrs. Doshia Gipson, Mr. Robert Adams, and Mr. Membrish Adams.
Joe Ann leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories with her loving and devoted children: Mr. Vascorey Q. Jackson (Teresa) of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Natasha R. Hall (David) of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mrs. Koronda T. Vinson (Coratio) of Montgomery, Alabama, and Mr. Lavitrius K. Clark (Keyondra) of Cordele, Georgia; her adored grandchildren: Ms. La'Prinda Ford of Ocala, Florida, Ms. Bria Bass of Cordele, Georgia, Ms. Tarinyce Clark of Montgomery, Alabama, Mr. Tequarrie Jackson of Creech Air Force Base, Nevada, Mr. Montrel Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Mr. Corey Harrell (Nehemiah) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Mr. Corbin Grant and Ms. Christalyn Grant, both of Montgomery, Alabama, Mr. Jayden Clark and Mr. Justen Clark, both of Cordele, Georgia; nine great-grandchildren; her loving sisters: Ms. Donna F. Kearse of Cocoa Beach, Florida, Ms. Martha A. Jackson and Mrs. Brenda J. Edwards (Walter), both of Cordele, Georgia; her caring brothers: Mr. William T. Jackson (Donna) of New Orleans, Louisiana, Mr. Kenneth B. Jackson and Mr. Carl A. Jackson (Lula), both of Cordele, Georgia; two sisters-in-law; two brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
