Mr. Joe C. Henderson of 307 West 19th Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at his residence.
The graveside funeral service will be held Sunday, August 27, 2023 at 4:00 PM at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
Mr. Joe C. Henderson was born July 14, 1944 in Cordele, Georgia. He was born to the late Mr. Willie C. Henderson and the late Mrs. Eula Henderson.
He was educated in the Crisp County School System.
He loved spending time with his children and other members of his family. His grandchildren meant so much to him and he enjoyed the time shared with them. Joe never met a stranger and he was always ready to talk when he encountered people along the way.
When not enjoying family time, he also enjoyed NASCAR Racing and Drag Racing.
Joe studied the bible and enjoyed sharing Bible truths. On Wednesday, August 23, 2023 he peacefully slipped away. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Ella Mae Henderson; his children, Mr. Maurice Henderson and Miss Angie Hardeman; and his siblings, Ms. Sally Henderson, Mr. Willie Henderson, Jr. Mrs. Eloise Henderson Thomas, Ms. Louise Henderson, Mr. Robert C. Henderson, Sr., Mr. Norman Henderson, Sr. and Mr. Bennie Henderson.
He is survived by his children, Mr. Prentice Henderson of Tifton, Georgia, Mr. Dwayne (Shameka) Hardeman and Ms. Chiquita Mapp of Cordele, Georgia; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; his sister, Mrs. Leila Rogers of Cordele, Georgia; a beloved brother, Mr. Larry (Donna) Henderson of El Paso, Texas; his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Ruby Jean (Henry) Snipes and Mrs. Laverne Anderson of Vienna, Georgia, Mrs. Mary Henderson and Mrs. Eloise Henderson of Cordele, Georgia; his brother-in-law, Mr. Raymond Davis of Savannah, Georgia; his goddaughters, Mrs. Sara (Arthur) Daniel of Cordele, Georgia and Ms. Pam Henderson of Tifton, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
