Mr. James Burden, III of 4445 GA Hwy 90 West, Vienna, Georgia, died on Monday, June 15, 2026, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.
Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and maintain social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your mask.
James Burden III, known affectionately to everyone as "Boot," was born on April 15, 1946, in Dooly County, Georgia. He was the beloved son of Deacon James Russell Burden, Jr. and Mrs. Mary Lue Coleman Burden. From a young age, Boot was educated at home and nurtured in a loving environment.
Boot accepted Christ early in his life and became a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Lilly, Georgia.
As he grew older, Boot enjoyed attending Innovative Senior Solutions in Americus, Georgia, where he made cherished connections and impacted the lives of those around him.
James "Boot" Burden III departed from this world on June 15, 2026, leaving behind many wonderful memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon James and Mrs. Mary Lue Burden and his siblings: Mary Jane Cross, Dorothy Richardson, Shirlene Brown, Ethel Brown, Dorothy Curtley, Helen Davis, Otis W. Burden, Lewis Burden, William Burden, and Eddie C. Burden.
Boot's memory is lovingly preserved by his surviving family members: his wife, Janie Mae Burden of Byromville, Georgia; his sisters, Joanne Cochran of Columbia, South Carolina, Linda T. (Earl) Williams of Byromville, Georgia, Wanda Burden of Lilly, Georgia, Sabrina (Rod) Marshall of Rex, Georgia, Melanie Burden of Stockbridge, Georgia, Shawntaria Burden of California, Hattie Mae Burden of Florida, Doris Brown James of Florida, Donna (David) Smith of Dooling, Georgia, Gloria Green of Byromville, Georgia; his brothers, Willie O. (Adrianna) Burden of Lilly, Georgia, Ricky Burden of Atlanta, Georgia, James Kenneth Burden of Atlanta, Georgia, Eddie James (Regina) Brown of Florida, Sammie Brown of Albany, Georgia, Lee Lloyd of Vienna, Georgia, Michael Burden of Cordele, Georgia; his aunt, Willie Dell Coleman of Lilly, Georgia; his in-laws, Juanita Adams, Marie Adkinson, Terry (Anthony) Wilson, Tammie (Lurry) Brown, Maxine (Leon) Adkinson, Dewanna (Yetta) McKenzie, Cassidy Rawls, Tyrone (Rosalyn) Adkinson, Thomas Ervin, and Stanley (Nikki) Ervin; his friends, Deacon Willie B. Smith of Byromville, Georgia, Eunice Young of Byromville, Georgia, James Earl Covington of Byromville, Georgia, John Oliver, Jr. of Elko, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends who cherish his memory.
