Mr. James Holmes, III of 328 King Avenue, Rochelle, Georgia died Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Heart of Georgia Nursing Home in Eastman, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 10:00 AM at the Evergreen Church Cemetery in Rochelle, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

Mr. James Holmes, III was born February 15, 1955 in Wilcox County, Georgia.  He was born to Mr. James Holmes, Jr. and Ms. Verla Cheese.

He was educated in the public school system of Wilcox County.  Early in his life he accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Evergreen Baptist Church in Rochelle, Georgia.

He loved family and enjoyed spending special moments with his family.  While our hearts will forever long to have him near, we are thankful all the wonderful memories shared over the years.

On Friday, April 22, 2022 his earthly journey came to a peaceful end.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings, Mr. Irvin Holmes and Ms. Gloria Holmes, and his grandmother, Mrs. Susie Mae Cheese.

Cherished memories are left to his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Dora Holmes; his loving children, Ms. Andrea Harmon, Ms. Jamie Holmes, and Mr. Isreal Yahway all of Jacksonville, Florida, Mrs. Wanda Holmes Gaines of Rochelle, Georgia, Mr. Stacey Holmes of Pineview, Georgia, and Ms. Ruby Lace of Rochelle, Georgia; his beloved grandchildren, Rinyiah, Ricardo Jr., Da'lon, Emmanuel, Yahsiah, Skylar, Kania, Taqavious, Jamal, Treasure, and Jay; his great grandkids, Jermani, Justice, J'Khannon, and Cali; his loving sisters, Mrs. Rose (Van) Dennard and Ms. Linda Holmes both of Rochelle, Georgia, Ms. Barbara McAdoo and Ms. Francina Holmes both of Fort Pierce, Florida; his caring brothers, Mr. Willie (Faye) Holmes, Mr. Perry Holmes, and Mr. Travis (Victoria) Cheese all of Rochelle, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, many cousins, other relatives, to include Mr. Ronnie Cheese of Pitts, Georgia whom he regarded as a brother, many sorrowing friends, to include a special friend, Mr. Ray Hill of Rochelle, Georgia.
