Mr. Israel Zell Walker of 1701 Oconee Circle, Cordele, Georgia died Saturday, November 2, 2024 at the Cordele Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 9, 2024 at 10:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Bethel Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Israel Zell Walker was born in Fitzgerald, Ben Hill County, Georgia on Thursday, March 30, 1950. He was the beloved son of Bill Walker and Dicie Maeola Walker, both of whom precede him in death.
Israel grew up in Cordele, Georgia where he was enrolled in the public school system until the 6th grade. Early in his life he became a member of the Odom Grove Baptist Church.
He would never shy away from work, he developed a love for farming as a young man and it continue to grow into adulthood. Israel was also a dedicated employee at Harris Press until he retired.
On Saturday, November 2, 2024, he peacefully slipped away from this life. His son, Isiah Walker, Jr., also precedes him in death.
His earthly journey will be remembered lovingly by his beloved and caring family, his wife, Rosa Felton Walker of Cordele, Georgia; his children, Melissa Walker and Sharon Walker Weaver of Cordele, Georgia, Marcus Walker of Lumpkin, Georgia and Demetrious Ponte Walker of Gainesville, Florida; his grandchildren, Quentavious Nance, LaBrittaney Walker, Latoya Walker, Marcus "Lil Boy" Walker, Ajada Walker, Montayshia Walker, Shenekia Walker, TaChinda Redding, Itena Walker, Izayna Walker, Tinautica Carter, Zykeria Carter, Breanna Armstrong, Jolanda Troutman, Kaden Walker, DaMari Walker, Daya Walker, Demetrious Walker, Jr., Daylen Walker, and Dylan Walker; 18 great grandchildren; his sisters, Louise Walker of Cordele, Georgia and Van Essie Walker of Valdosta, Georgia; his cousin, Jerry Jackson of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
