Mr. Henry Moses Polk of 179 GA Hwy 308, Plains, Georgia, died on Monday, March 23, 2026, at the Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at 3:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Greater Cedar Spring Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia.  The burial will follow at Staley Memorial Garden in Americus, Georgia.

Henry Moses Polk was born on April 24, 1938, in Sumter County, Georgia. He was the beloved son of Frank Polk and Arqulia Jackson Hall.

Henry was educated in public schools of Sumter County.

He accepted  Christ as his Lord and Savior and shared his spiritual walk with the believers of the Greater Cedar Spring Baptist Church in Plains, Georgia. His faith and commitment guided him through the years.

For over 40 years, Henry was a skilled and hardworking truck driver. His career allowed him to traverse the open roads, witnessing the vast and varied landscapes of America. This experience enriched his life and gave him countless    stories to share with family and friends.

His parents, Frank Polk and Arqulia Hall, as well as his sons, Chris Slappey and Patrick Polk, preceded him in death.  Henry Moses Polk passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026. Though he is no longer with us, Henry leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and cherished memories that will forever be held in the hearts of his family, friends, and community. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing him.

His earthly journey will be cherished by his companion, Eva Williams of Plains, Georgia; his children, Rodney R. Polk of Plains, Georgia, Donnie Lewis and Martha Ann (Gerald) Harris of Americus, Georgia, Mark Williams of New York, and Cathy Wilkerson of Americus, Georgia; a host of   grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his aunts and uncles, Lillian (Pacie) Pickett of Plains, Georgia, Alma (Willie Maude) Jackson of Americus, Georgia, Rosie Mae (Edgar) Lassiter of Plains, Georgia, Roy (Elizabeth) Jackson, LeAnn Gardner, and Roy Jackson, Jr.; a devoted cousin, Freeman Pickett of Americus, Georgia, a devoted friend, Leonard Muff of Americus, Georgia and a host of other relatives.
