Mr. Henry C. Mathis of 297 Pecan Drive, Americus, Georgia died Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Phoebe-Sumter Medical Center in Americus, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service will be held Wednesday, May 1, 2024 at 11:00 AM at Eastview Cemetery Pavilion in Americus, Georgia.

Our beloved Henry C. Mathis was born in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia.  He was welcomed to this world on September 7, 1947 by his beloved parents, Frank Mathis and  Geneva Ross Mathis.  His parents and his son, Kenneth Mathis, along with his siblings, Ozie Jackson, Clyde Mathis, Sr., Louise Harvey and Grace Johnson, each precede him in death.

He was educated in the public schools of Sumter County.  He a believer  in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Never a stranger to work, he was employed as a Machine Operator for Hickory Springs.  He was a dedicated employee until his retirement.

On Saturday, April 27, 2024, he peacefully transitioned from this life.  Many cherished memories of his life will continue on in the hearts of his son, Cedric (Tiffanie) Mathis, Sr. of Americus, Georgia; his grandchildren, Rekevian Mathis of Douglasville, Georgia, KaLiyah Morgan of Athens, Georgia, Cedric Mathis, Jr. and Catelyn Mathis of Americus, Georgia; his sister, Bernice Mann of Americus, Georgia; his brothers, Noble Mathis, Isaiah Mathis, Willie Mathis, Charles Mathis and Carl Mathis all of Americus, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
