Mr. Henry Eugene Howard, Jr. of 385 Mill Street, Rochelle, Georgia passed away Friday, October 11, 2024, at St. Joseph Hospital in Savannah, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 19, 2024, at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Pine City Baptist Church in Rochelle, Georgia. The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.
Mr. Henry Eugene Howard, Jr. was born on April 27, 1944, in Wilcox County, Georgia. He was born to Mr. Henry E. Howard, Sr., and Mrs. Elizabeth Davis Howard, both of whom, along with his brother, Mr. Rufus Howard, Sr., preceded him in death.
Educated in the public schools of Wilcox County, he was a 1963 graduate of Excelsior High School. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior and united with the Pine City Baptist Church.
Never a stranger to hard work, Henry was a loyal employee at Olma Peanut Company for many years. He loved sports, especially Baseball, Football, and Racing. His favorite teams included the Lakers, the Miami Dolphins, and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
On Friday, October 11, 2024, he found rest in the arms of Jesus leaving many wonderful memories to his loving and devoted wife, Mrs. Geneva Roberts Howard of Rochelle, Georgia; his loving and devoted children, Mr. Henry (Fracina) Howard, III of Rochelle, Georgia, Mrs. Audrey (Roosevelt) Stafford of Ashburn, Georgia, Mrs. Jacqueline (Harold) Drummer of Orlando, Florida, Ms. Sharon Howard George of Macon, Georgia, Mr. Bennie (Lotonia) Howard of Rochelle, Georgia, Mr. Maurice (Ladonna) Howard of Leesburg, Georgia, Mrs. Jessica (Wayne) Cunningham of Anniston, Alabama, Ms. Erica Roberts and Mr. Jessie Roberts both of Pineview, Georgia; 35 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; two loving sisters, Mrs. Nora Jean (Melvin) Powell of Rochelle, Georgia and Mrs. Bernita Fontanez-Cuadrado of Americus, Georgia; his uncle, Mr. Sidney Adkins, Jr. of Savannah, Georgia; his sisters-in-law, Ms. Bobby Jean Roberts, Ms. Julia Mae Roberts, and Ms. Geneva Howard all of Rochelle, Georgia, Ms. Linda Jean Coley of Hawkinsville, Georgia, and Ms. Dorothy Roberts of Warner Robins, Georgia; his brothers-in-law, Mr. Handson Roberts of Ashburn, Georgia and Mr. Walter Jane Roberts of Pineview, Georgia; host of nieces and nephews, to include a special nephew, Mr. Lionel King of Rochelle, Georgia; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
