Obituary

Mrs. Helen R. Johnson of 1085 Pleasant Valley Road, Vienna, Georgia died Sunday, June 12, 2022 at her residence.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 5:00 PM at the Forest Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia.  Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

The union of Mr. Frank and Mrs. Octrie Collier welcomed the birth of a beautiful daughter on January 7, 1936.  Helen Relove, a gift from the Lord, was born in Dooly County, Georgia.

She was educated in the public schools of Dooly County.

In her early adulthood, she moved to Miami, Florida.  While living in Miami she united with the Mount Carmen Baptist Church.  She served faithfully as an Usher until her health failed.

An excellent cook, she enjoyed feeding people.  She was a mother-figure to so many.  One of her greatest loves was    singing gospel music.

In 2019, as her health failed, she moved back to Georgia.  She will be lovingly remembered as a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

On Sunday, June 12, 2022 she heard the Master's call and peacefully slipped away.  Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Roosevelt Johnson, Sr.; her son, Mr. Roosevelt Johnson, Jr.; and her brothers, Mr.   Sammy Collier, Mr. Albert Collier, Mr. Julius Collier, and Mr. Frankie Lee Collier, Sr.

Memories of her life will forever be cherished by her loving and devoted children, Mrs. Mercie (Lonnie) Mathis of Vienna, Georgia and Mrs. Rozina (John, Sr.) Lewis of Miami, Florida; her daughter-in-law, Mrs. Deborah Johnson of Miami, Florida; her grandchildren, Mr. Jeffery Mathis of Vienna, Georgia, Ms. Marisa Mathis of Austell, Georgia. Mrs. Kaylar (Ronnie) Starling of Bethlehem, Georgia, Mr. John Lewis, Jr., Mr. Jermaine (Alessander) Lewis, and Ms. Latedra Johnson all of Miami, Florida; her great grandchildren, Johnquai, Sr., Jermeysha, Ja'Niya, Jasmine, Jakari, Jada, Markayl, Latavish, Jefvion, Zyisha, Riley, and Reagan; a great, great grandson, Johnquai, Jr.; her loving sisters, Mrs. Sarah Blackshear and Mrs. Myrtice (Earl, Sr.) Clark both of Vienna, Georgia, Mrs. Lillie Bowens of Unadilla, Georgia, Mrs. Peggy Dykes of Atlanta, Georgia, Mrs. Patricia (Reverend Coley, Jr.) Clark of Ellaville, Georgia, and Mrs. Annie (Ronald) Wheeler of Unadilla, Georgia; a beloved brother, Mr. John (Barbara) Collier of  Vienna, Georgia; her goddaughters, Ms. Tiffany Darrien and Ms. Judy Wallace; a host of nieces and nephews; many cousins, to include her devoted cousins, Mr. Ozzie (Chanita) Williams of Hudson, Florida and Mr. Lemmie C. (Emma) Buckles of Jacksonville, Florida; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
