Mrs. Hazel Bembry Daniels of 1903 Pateville Road, Cordele, Georgia died Friday, March 14, 2025 at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Greater Morris Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Macedonia Church Cemetery, Drayton Community, Vienna, Georgia.

Deaconess Hazel Bembry Daniels, a beloved matriarch and dedicated community servant, was born on September 4, 1939, in Hawkinsville, Pulaski County, GA. She was the cherished daughter of Norman Bembry and Annie Mae Nelson Bembry and passed away peacefully on Friday, March 14, 2025.

Hazel began her educational journey at George Washington Carver Elementary School in Miami, FL. She received her high school diploma from Thomson High School in Philadelphia, PA.

Hazel was a devoted member of Macedonia Baptist Church in Drayton, GA, for over two decades. Her commitment to her faith was evident through her numerous roles, including Secretary of the Usher Board, Kitchen Committee  Director for 20 years, Director/President of the Senior Citizen Program, and   Coordinator of the Youth Department. Her spiritual journey later led her to  Greater Morris Tabernacle Baptist Church in Cordele, GA, where she continued her service on the Usher Board and Mission Board.

Hazel's dedication extended beyond the church, as she was an active community member. She served as a leader in the Youth Opportunity Program (YOP) and was a prominent member of the Order of Eastern Star, Queen of Sheba #13.  She served as Vice Ancient Matron of Joshua Court #7 and Court Queen, Heroines of Jericho, Wilhelmina H. Parrish Most Ancient Grand Court of Georgia and was always willing to take on various leadership roles. Hazel was also involved with Jack & Jill of America (Crisp/Dooly Chapter) for five years and an active member of the TOPS Program.

Throughout her life, Hazel held several roles that reflected her caring nature and entrepreneurial spirit. She worked as a school crossing guard for nine years,   ensuring the safety of children in the community. She was the owner and provider of Daniels Childcare for 17 years and the proud owner of The Chicken Box for 19 years, where she shared her culinary talents with many.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Deacon Bennie James Daniels, Sr., her parents, and her children, Linda Hunt, Sansi Daniels Canty, Christopher  Daniels, Sr. Henry Daniels, Bennie James Daniels, Jr., Hillary Daniels Hicks, Deborah Daniels and Bennie James Daniels, III. Her siblings, Ruby Smith, Ella M. Harris, Louise Mathis, Robert Bembry, Sr., John L. Bembry, Leroy Bembry, Willie James Bembry, Rufus Bembry, Walter Bembry, Bobby Solomon, Willie Bembry, and Willie Frank Bembry.

Deaconess Hazel Bembry Daniels's life was a testament to the power of faith, family, and community. Her unwavering dedication to serving others and her ability to touch the lives of all she met will continue to inspire those who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the hearts and minds of everyone she encountered.

She leaves behind a profound legacy through her surviving children: Albert N. Bembry, Sr. (Loufrieda), Neat Royal Windom, Lavanza D. Feagen (Jimmy),  Broderick James Daniels, Sr. of Cordele, GA, Evelyn Akins of Atlanta, GA,  Tony Daniels, Michael Daniels, Sandra Barner (Ralph) of Cordele, GA, Brenda Williams (Donald) of Haines City, FL, and Darlene Daniels of Miami, FL; her grandchildren and great grandson, whom she reared, Nicholas Lawton, Natashi Daniels, and Christopher Daniels, Jr.; 41 grandchildren, including her devoted Albert Bembry, Jr., Eboni Daniels, Charlie Blanks, Jr., Broderick Daniels, Jr., Lakesha Johnson, and Melesheann Daniels; 100 great grandchildren; 14 great-great grandchildren; her sister, Ethel Jackson (Leon) of Hawkinsville, GA; her sisters-in-law, Lucille Daniels of Atlanta, GA, Abigail Bembry and Gloria    Bembry of Miami, FL, Sylvania Bembry of Perry, GA, and Gussie Daniels of Vienna, GA; a special cousin, Elnora McKenzie of Hawkinsville, GA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends, including, Rosalind Porter, Bernice Laster, Alice Bryant, Deacon Joe Clark, and John Burns.
