Obituary

Mr. Glenn Eli Brown of 155 Hosanna Circle, Americus, Georgia died Monday, January 29, 2024 at his residence.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024 at 2:00 PM at the New Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Cobb, Georgia.

The union of the late Mr. Frank Brown and the late Mrs. Erma Diane Gaines Brown was wonderfully blessed with the birth of a son on June 5, 1962.  Born in Sumter County, Georgia, he was named Glenn Eli Brown.

Glenn received his education from the schools of Sumter County.  He was a 1983 graduate of the Sumter County Comprehensive High School.

He accepted Christ as Lord and Savior and united with the New Zion Baptist Church.

Glenn was employed by CE Minerals Mulcoa Operations for 30 years.  He also worked at Magnolia Manor for 18 years.

Glenn had a phenomenal love for music.  Early on he penned his named as a D. J. to "D. J. Heartbuster".  He enjoyed deejaying for various community events and any interested in contacting him for his services could always go to his Facebook page.  Glenn always felt at home when he deejaying.

On Monday, January 29, 2024, our beloved Glenn transitioned from this life.  Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his sisters, Mrs. Bernadette Brown Bell and Mrs. Miranda Thomas and his grandparents, Mr. Oscar Cal Gaines and Mrs. Ossie Mae Gaines.

He leaves cherished memories to his loving and devoted children, Ms. Brittney Brown and Mr. Tavis Jones of Americus, Georgia; his beloved grandchildren, Tyaisa Jones, Trayden Hooks, Landen Jones, Jase Jones, and Londynn Jones of Americus, Georgia; his stepchildren whom he dearly cherished, Ms. Alexis Hill, Mr. Joe Hill, Ms. Chasity Daniels, Ms. Kierra Battle, and Mr. Ke'darious Evans; his loving sister, Missionary Patricia Brown of Americus, Georgia; his beloved brothers, Mr. Calvin Brown of Columbus, Georgia, Mr. Chris Allen Brown of Laurel, Maryland, Mr. Anthony Wayne Brown of Americus, Georgia, Mr. Ray Anthony Brown of Cobb, Georgia, and Mr. Jeffery Milan Brown of Americus, Georgia; his uncle, Mr. Eddie George Brown of Desoto, Georgia; two brothers-in-law, Mr. Henry (Bernadette) Bell and Mr. Cedric (Miranda) Thomas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends.
