Mrs. Gladys Porter Lewis of 406 West 1st Avenue, Cordele, Georgia died Saturday, July 13, 2024 at the Cordele Health and Rehabilitation Center in Cordele, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Monday, July 22, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the sanctuary of Greater Morris Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church in Cordele Georgia. The burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery in Cordele Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing. A mask must be worn throughout the stay. You must supply your own mask.

Gladys Porter Lewis affectionately known as "Sister" of Cordele, Georgia, age 96, passed away at the Cordele Health and Rehabilitation Center on July 13, 2024. She was born December 31, 1927 to the late Frank and Dora Fish Porter of Cordele, Georgia.

She is preceded in death by her only daughter Natalie. Her six brothers, Lawson, Harrison, John Oscar, Eddie, James, and Frank, and her four sisters, Janie, Mariah, Annie, and Helen, also preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Greater Morris Tabernacle Baptist Church. Gladys was educated in the Crisp County School system.  She was employed as a Line Worker at the Peanut Mill during her employment tenure.

She is survived by one nephew, Eddie Porter, Jr. of Cordele, Georgia; three nieces, Patricia Parker (Willie) of Atlanta, Georgia, Janice Orise (Herbert) of Birmingham, Alabama, Sharon Smith of Atlanta, Georgia and Sherrie Pretlow of Far Rockaway, New York and a host of great nieces, great nephews and friends.
