Mr. Garrette Carter of 136 Starlight Circle, Americus, Georgia died Thursday, September 21, 2023 at Atrium Health in Macon, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 1. 2023 at 1:00 PM at the Eastview Cemetery Pavilion in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery.

Garrette Carter was born August 1, 1980 in Americus, Sumter County, Georgia.  He was born to Mr. Ira Howell Carter and Mrs. Diana Barker Carter.

Garrette received his education from the Sumter County School System.

He worshipped at the Eastview Seventh Day Adventist Church in Americus, Georgia.

Garrette grew up playing recreational football.  He had the ability to fix anything and had a special passion for fixing cars.  He could also draw just about anything free handed.

Garrette will be remembered as a humble soul who never raised his voice.  He was simply "A Big Humble Giant."

On Thursday, September 21, 2023 he transitioned from this life.  He is preceded in death by his father, Ira and his grandparents, Mrs. Ella Barker, Mr. John T. Barker, Mrs. Sylivine Carter, Mr. Bubba Carter, and Mr. Charlie Russell.

His life will forever be remembered by his loving and devoted mother, Mrs. Diane Barker Carter of Americus, Georgia; his   loving sisters, Ms. Gabrieal Carter and Ms. Sandriea Carter of Americus, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Ms. Lee Ella Harris, Ms. Joann Barker, Ms. Loretta McDonald, Ms. Lorain Barker, Mrs. Tammie (Authur) Patillo, and Mr. Johnny C. Barker of Americus, Georgia, Ms. Paula Wells of Montezuma, Georgia, Mr. Clearance (Kim) Barker of Riverdale, Georgia, Mr. Timmy (Teresa) Barker of Conyers, Georgia and Mr. Phillip Carter of Korea; his devoted cousins, Mr. Johnny Lazel Harris of Riverdale, Georgia, Mr. Kendrell Barker and Mr. Derrick Barker both of Americus, Georgia; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include his devoted friends, Mr. Kiev Walker and Mr. Jesse Tyson both of Americus, Georgia.
