Mr. Gabriel Antoni Whitehead, Sr. of 1205 South 15th Street, Cordele, Georgia died Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at Atrium Navicent Health in Macon, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, May 19, 2022 at 12:00 Noon at J. W. Williams Funeral Home Porte Cochere in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Pleasant Valley Church Cemetery in Pinehurst, Georgia. Everyone in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.
Gabriel Antoni Whitehead was born October 22, 1975 in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia. He was born to Betty Ann Whitehead and the late Samuel Cobb.
"Twan" as he was called by everyone, was baptized at the age of 5 at the Gethsemane Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and was his family's "Gentle Giant."
He was educated in the public schools of Crisp County and was a member of the Class of 1995.
He had a contagious smile and a very distinct laugh. His hobbies included cooking on the grill and spending time with his family and friends. Watching his favorite football team, the Philadelphia Eagles, was also amongst the many things he enjoyed. He also had a great passion for children.
On Tuesday, May 10, 2022, he traded the cares of this life for a life free of all pain and suffering. Along with his father, he is preceded in death by his grandparents, Auther and Agnes Whitehead, his aunts and uncles, Annie Ludden, Gloria (Spencer) Pace, Willie Whitehead and William Whitehead, and his cousins, Aquilla B. Pace and Colisha Hicks.
He leaves cherished memories to his loving and devoted mother, Betty Ann Whitehead of Cordele, Georgia; his beloved and caring companion, Demetria Hector of Cordele, Georgia; his loving and devoted children, Jasmin Cabrera-Whitehead of Leominster, Massachusetts, Gabrielle N. Whitehead of Atlanta, Georgia, Sha'Nya N. Whitehead, Gabriel A. Whitehead, Jr., and JahTwan S. Whitehead all of Cordele, Georgia, and Antwan D. Whitehead of Comer, Georgia; his loving sisters, Trivia Whitehead of Cordele, Georgia, Ewanda Mathis of Vienna, Georgia, Xazira Gaston of Louisiana, and Jankeenia Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; a beloved brother, Clienton Whitehead of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts and uncles, Lessie Hicks of Cordele, Georgia, George Whitehead, Sr. (Ann), Jackie Brown (Fred), Curtis Ludden, Sr., and Lakita Whitehead all of Cordele, Georgia, and Barbara Whitehead of Macon, Georgia; his nieces and nephews; a host of "favorite" cousins (he had so many); his godmother, Easter Mae Sanders of Cordele, Georgia; his second family, Debra Lynn, Carlos and the Armstrong Family; a host of other relatives and many "Best Friends," other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include those of whom he respected and co-parented with: Sonya Gaines, Varnesha Lewis, Yaitza Aquino, and Hannah Seigler.
