Mr. Freeman Clayton, Jr. of 810 Lincoln Street, Vienna, Georgia died Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 13, 2024 at 11:00 AM in the sanctuary of the Forest Chapel Baptist Church in Pinehurst, Georgia.  The burial will follow in the churchyard cemetery.

Today, we remember with deep sorrow and fondness the life of Mr.  Freeman Clayton Jr., who passed away peacefully at the age of 76 on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Freeman was a beloved father, grandfather, and friend to many.  His parents, Freeman Clayton, Sr. and Martha Ruth Clayton, along with his siblings, Mussolinie Young, Annetta Clayton, Mack Clayton, and Luther Clayton, each precede him in death.

Freeman led a life filled with passions that brought him joy and fulfillment. He had an undeniable love for cars, each one a testament to his appreciation for craftsmanship and style. Whether tinkering under the hood or cruising down the highway, Freeman found solace and excitement in the world of automobiles.  He was employed at  Coley Gin for 33 years.

An avid fisherman, Freeman cherished the tranquility of early mornings spent by the water, casting lines and sharing stories with fellow anglers. His skill and patience were matched only by the happiness he found in these peaceful moments.

Among his many talents, Freeman was a skilled card player, known  especially for his mastery of Georgia Skins. Countless evenings were spent around tables, laughter and friendly competition filling the air as Freeman showcased his strategic prowess and quick wit.

Western films held a special place in Freeman's heart, transporting him to a time of cowboys and frontier adventures. His admiration for these tales of bravery and honor was evident in his collection of classic films and memorabilia.

Above all else, Freeman cherished time spent with his cherished family and friends. His warmth and generosity were constants in his              relationships, making every gathering a cherished memory for those fortunate enough to have known him.

Freeman Clayton Jr. leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to those he held dear. While he will be deeply missed, his spirit lives on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of sharing in his remarkable journey through life. In honoring Freeman's memory, let us celebrate the joy he brought to each of us and carry forward the lessons of kindness and passion that defined his remarkable life.

He is survived by his children, Freeman Hardrick, Latresa Hardrick, and Mario Hardrick all of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Cortez Caldwell of St. Petersburg, Florida, Gentry Jackson, Tometric Burke of Vienna, Georgia, Tina Glenn of Pinehurst, Georgia, Shakeyla Wooden and Malcom     Freeman both of Warner Robins, Georgia; a bonus son, Deshun James of Titon, Georgia; 21 grandchildren; four great grandchildren; his sisters, Willie Dell Coleman of Lilly, Georgia, Almetia Clayton of Dooling, Georgia and Inez Glenn of Vienna, Georgia; his brothers, Deacon Lonnie Clayton, Sr. of Byromville, Georgia, Marcus Leon Clayton, Sr. (Earlie Mae) of Byromville, Georgia, Abraham Clayton and John Clayton, Sr. both of Lilly, Georgia; his aunts, Ms. George Eva Spivey and Ms. Frank Parker both of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Alonzo Adams, Jerome Adams, Ethel Lee Jones, and Chuck & Susie Coley.
