Mr. Francis Singleton better known as "Mike" of 179 Henry Road, Warwick, Georgia died Monday, February 7, 2022 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital - North Campus in Albany, Georgia.

The graveside funeral service will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Mount Olive Church Cemetery in Warwick, Georgia.  Every one in attendance is asked to please wear a mask and to practice social distancing.

On December 25, 1945, our beloved, Mr. Francis "Mike" Singleton was born in Dougherty County, Georgia. He was born to the late Lemon and Rosa Mae Cooper.

Francis was educated in the public school system and attended the Booker T. Washington School.  He continued his education at Moore Haven Jr./Sr. High School.

He accepted Christ as his personal Savior and united with the Mount Mariah Baptist Church in Warwick, Georgia.

Francis was always a hard worker.  He was employed with Goodson Roofing of Albany, Georgia for 20 years.  He later became employed with the Crisp County Landfill for 17 years until his retirement.  Mike was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #24 in Albany, Georgia.

Francis enjoyed spending time with his family and he loved telling jokes.  He loved his hock knives and loved shooting his guns.  He also loved fishing with his grandboys and working in his garden.  A loving kind person to everyone because he never met a stranger.

On Monday, February 7, 2022, he quietly slipped away while a patient at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital - North Campus in Albany, Georgia.  Along with his parents, Lemon and Rosa Mae Cooper, he is preceded in death by his siblings, John L. Porter, Frankie Lee Woodbright, and Lemon Cooper, Jr.

Memories of his life will  be cherished by his loving and devoted wife, Gertrude Thomas Singleton of Warwick, Georgia, his loving and devoted children, Tracie (Greg) Peterson of Vienna, Georgia, Cecelia Singleton (Aldric Johnson) of Cordele, Georgia, Songa Jones of Atlanta, Georgia, Michael Singleton (Taneria) of Albany, Georgia, Curtis Jones and Charles Jones both of Warwick, Georgia; three children he raised as his own, Kiara Tolbert of Warwick, Georgia, Je'Kari Felton (Shaqindor) of Oglethorpe, Georgia, and Akendolyn Westbrook of Vienna, Georgia; his stepchildren, Veronica Mency and Margaret Mency both of Warwick, Georgia, Christopher Mency of Greenville, South Carolina, Danielle Byrd (Eugene), Shontra Lewis, Eddie Hicks, Clovis Hicks, Daniel Hicks, and Lashon Hicks all of Cordele, Georgia, Elbert Smith, Elvis Smith, and Reggie Smith all of Americus, Georgia; 25 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; his loving sisters, Julia Hall (Johnny), Carrie Cooper, and Bertha Gordon (Errol) all of Moore Haven, Florida, and Mary Helen Simmons (Robert) of Mississippi; his beloved brothers, Willie J. Bryant of Warwick, Georgia, Samuel A. Cooper (Wanda Faye) and  Jerry Cooper both of Moore Haven, Florida, Willie Lee Cooper (Raquel) of Tallahassee, Florida; his loving godmother, Mother Willie Mae Walker of Warwick, Georgia; his in-laws, Gwen Mitchell, Willie Mae Thomas, Leon Thomas, Spencer Battle, William Thomas, and Velma Thomas all of Warwick, Georgia and Beatrice Thomas of Cordele, Georgia; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins, to include, Greg Pruitt of Vienna, Georgia, Cedrick Pruitt, and Samuel "Peanut" Cooper of Moore Haven, Florida; a host of other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, Frank Waters and David Sims both of Warwick, Georgia, Frank Walker of Arabi, Georgia, George Gay and Robert Harvey both of Cordele, Georgia.
