United States Navy Veteran, Ms. Evelyn Brown Beal of Virginia Beach, Virginia formerly of Dooly County, Georgia, died Thursday, December 14, 2023 at the Sentara Leigh Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, December 31, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial with military honors, will follow at the Vienna City Cemetery  in Vienna, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

On October 30, 1958, a sweet and beautiful soul was welcomed into the world affectionately named Evelyn Brown.  Born in Lilly, Georgia, Evelyn was the cherished daughter of Wilson and Lessie Mae Brown.

At an early age Evelyn  accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.  As a believer she grew in faith and depended on God.  Evelyn became a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church at a young age.

On Thursday, December 14, 2023, Evelyn heard God's call and peacefully transitioned from this earthly life to life everlasting.  Evelyn is preceded in death by her parents.  She is also preceded in death by her loving siblings, Nettie Brown, Wilson Brown, Jr., Bill Brown,  Brenda Delois Davis, Patricia Ann Davis, and Janice Faye Watkins.  Evelyn is also preceded in death by her loving nephew, Charles  Anthony Brown.

Evelyn's journey through life was marked by her devotion to her    family, her passion for helping others, and her unwavering kindness. She is a graduate of Vienna High School, class of 1976.  In 1978, Evelyn wed her high school sweetheart, Ernest Beal.  Evelyn loved to serve others and later joined the United States Navy. Military life afforded  Evelyn the chance to see the world while serving her country.  She was blessed to live in various places from Florida to Louisiana, and Virginia.  The latter, of which she made her home for over thirty years.  Evelyn was a beautiful soul who loved life and lived it with vibrance.  Evelyn loved computers and thoroughly enjoyed her work as a data analyst.  Evelyn touched countless lives with her genuineness, care, and compassion.

Evelyn's life and legacy will forever be cherished by her sweet and loving daughter, Regina LaKisha (Andre) Hair of Sparks, Nevada, her amazing granddaughter, Tatanya Brown of Atlanta, Georgia and her amazing grandson, Malik Hair of Sparks, Nevada.

She leaves cherished memories to her siblings, Betty (Hendley) Bryant of Vienna, Georgia, Wilbert (Carolyn) Brown of Vienna, Georgia, Tammie (Vonertic) Brown of Atlanta, Georgia, Rhonda (Walter) Zellner of Warner Robins, Georgia, and Maurice (Tamela) Brown of Warner Robins, Georgia.

Evelyn leaves many treasured memories to her aunt, Thelma Smith of Unadilla, Georgia; loving nieces and nephews, Lonnie Davis, Jr. Trevis Davis, Andy Davis, Cekeitha Davis Nosike, Elisha Henry, Cindy Davis, Johnny Davis, Jr., Rodriquez Brown, Samantha Sutton, Brandon Perry, Courtney Bryant, Alexis Bryant, Brian Brown, Christopher Brown, Shekira  Brown, Icyana Kendrick, DeMarco Kendrick, Justin Brown, Kelvin Gaines, Jr., and Andrew Brown; 34 great nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives and sorrowing friends, to include, Gloria Black, Evett Owens, and Edwardine Jones.
