With love and joy, a beautiful baby girl was welcomed to this world on August 19, 1950. Our beloved Estelle was born to the late James and Cealie Mae Smith in Cordele, Crisp County, Georgia.
The seeds of education were planted as she was enrolled in the public school system. She graduated from the A. S. Clark High School. She continued her education by earning a Nursing degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology.
After leaving Cordele, Estelle met Jesse Roberts. They were united in holy matrimony on December 19, 1974.
Reared in a Christian home with a desire to serve the Lord, she united with the Gethsemane Baptist Church early in her life. After relocating to Atlanta, she became a member of the Greater Atlanta Healing Temple. In 2011 she received her Ministerial License.
Through her love for her community and her love for family she was a faithful member of the Lilburn Women Club for 50 years. She also enjoyed making candy, going to flea markets, baking goods, and cooking.
On Friday, November 3, 2023 she transitioned from life to life eternal. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her son, Erwin Smith; her siblings: Mary Lee Smith Booker, Mae Ellen Deshazier, and Johnny James Smith, Jr.
Her life's journey will lovingly be remembered by her loving and devoted husband of 48 years, Jesse Roberts of Atlanta, Georgia; her loving sisters, Ossie Dean Outlaw of Cordele, Georgia and Gladys Smith-Boddie (Rufus) of Stone Mountain, Georgia; her caring brothers, Charlie Smith of Ellenwood, Georgia and Calvin Smith of Cordele, Georgia; her beloved mother-in-law, Ruby Wilkes of Atlanta, Georgia; her sister-in-law, Theresa Smith of Atlanta, Georgia; a host of nieces and nephews, to include a special niece, Nita; a host of cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include the members of Greater Atlanta Healing Temple Church.
