A beautiful and wonderful blessing was given to James Carter, Sr. and Lois Dismuke Carter with the birth of their daughter, who they lovingly named, Frances Louise. She was born February 22, 1939 in Sumter County, Georgia.
She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County where she attended McCoy Hill and Staley High School.
A woman of unwavering faith, Evangelist Haugabook, committed herself to the service of the Lord. She served willingly and faithfully at Power of Faith and Friendship Baptist Church.
Her love was never ending and she shared it everywhere she would go. She loved her children and grandchildren. That love was so easily spread to others, for she genuinely loved people. It was nothing for her to bring people whom she did not know to her home and feed them a meal. She also had a special love for flowers and would quite often be seen working in her yard.
On Saturday, September 3, 2022, our beautiful and wonderful blessing went home to be with the Lord. Her earthly journey was filled with so many blessings and as a family we are forever grateful for her sharing her blessings of love and kindness with each of us. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her beloved son, Billy Carter.
She will forever be remembered in the hearts of her loving and devoted children, Cheryle Cobb-Henry (Ertell) of Americus, Georgia, Bobby Cobb (Demetrius) of Hiram, Georgia, Reggie Mann, Tabitha Mann, Darron Mann, and Shonda Blackmon (Danny) all of Americus, Georgia; her loving grandchildren, Taraus Hubbard, Montrell Merritt, Adrin Battle, Broderick Cobb, Michael Battle, LaVoris West, Britton Carter, Christy Carter, Chez Mansfield, Tamera Carter, Markel Cobb, Chermeka Barron, Xonia Boone, De'Atrah Mann, Ashunna Maye, Robert Maye, Jr., Maquis Ware, Ja'Marcus Waters, Brittney Sampson, Chavez Cooper, and Trnard McGriff; her beloved and caring brothers, Charles Carter of Americus, Georgia, Isiah (Maude) Carter of Perry, Florida, and Jesse Davis of Miami, Florida; an uncle, Robert (Ladenia) Coleman of Americus, Georgia; a host of cousins, to include a special cousin, Walter Carter, Sr.; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include, LeTyarrian Jemel Miles of Americus, Georgia, Joe Jones of Cordele, Georgia, James and Betty Millner of Americus, Georgia, Howard and Diane Jackson of Little Rock, Arkansas, and Gloria West of Americus, Georgia.
