Mr. Eugene Williams of 408 West 22nd Avenue, Cordele, Georgia, died Wednesday, March 26, 2025, at his residence.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 30, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of the J. W. Williams Funeral Home in Cordele, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Pleasant Hill Church Cemetery, Hatley Community, Cordele, Georgia.

Everyone entering the funeral home for visitations or services is required to wear a mask and to practice social distancing.  A mask must be worn throughout the stay.  You must supply your own mask.

Eugene Williams was born on May 10, 1947, in Crisp County, Georgia, to the late W. C. Williams and Annie M. Westbrook Williams. He was educated in the Wilcox County Public School System, where he developed a strong foundation for his future endeavors. His early commitment to faith was evident when he joined the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in the Hatley Community of Cordele, Georgia.

Eugene had a profound love for the outdoors. He found joy and peace in farming, fishing, and spending time in nature. His porch became a gathering place where he shared laughter and stories with friends, creating lasting memories. Eugene's appreciation for the simple pleasures in life was evident in these cherished moments.

Eugene Williams passed away on March 26, 2025, but his   legacy of love, faith, and community continues to inspire those who knew him. His life serves as a testament to the  values of family, friendship, and a love for the natural world.

Eugene was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Callaway Williams. Despite these losses, he leaves a legacy of love and resilience. His memory lives on through his siblings, Mrs. Hattie M. Williams Carter and Mr. Roosevelt (Phyllis) Williams of Cordele, Georgia; his aunts, Mrs. Martha R. Westbrook of Arabi, Georgia and Mrs. Willie Mae Leary of Hatley, Georgia; his nephews and nieces, include Mr. Eddie (Melinda) Williams, Sr., Mr. Michael Williams, Mr. Kenneth Williams, Mrs. Phyllis (Frank) Jackson, Mr. Benjamin Carter, Mr. Isiah Carter, Jr., Mrs. Laura (Antonio) Swint, Ms. Tamara Clark, Ms. Latrecia Williams, and Mrs. Kesha (Phillip) Lewis; his godchildren, Ms. Meka Hayes, Mr. Terrell Tolbert, Ms. Amanda Nance, and Ms. Tomeka Tolbert; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, to include a special companion, Mr. Marvin Simpson.
