Mrs. Esta Louise Armstrong Johnson of 3172 GA Hwy 90, Arabi, Georgia, died Friday, January 30, 2026, at the Crisp Regional Hospital in Cordele, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 3:30 PM in the sanctuary of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Cordele, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Sunnyside Cemetery in Cordele, Georgia.
Esta Louise Armstrong Johnson, a cherished daughter of Steve Armstrong, Sr. and Drunell Daniels Armstrong, was born on February 5, 1951, in Cordele, Georgia. She was educated in the Crisp County School System and graduated from A. S. Clark High School in Cordele, Georgia.
Esta was a devoted member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church, where she was known for her willingness to help others with an open heart. Her involvement with the Ladies Auxiliary highlighted her commitment to her community and faith. Known for her culinary talents, she was the unofficial cook and baker for her family, bringing joy and comfort through her meals. Her warmth and kindness made her beloved by all who knew her.
Esta was a prayer warrior, consistently praying for her family and friends, ensuring they always felt supported and loved. Her nieces and nephews held her in the highest regard, appreciating the love and guidance she provided.
She was united in holy matrimony to Robert Johnson, and their bond was a testament to love and companionship. Esta transitioned peacefully on Friday, January 30, 2026. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings: Gwelda Walker, Elizabeth Ashley, Daphne Floyd, William Armstrong, Kenneth Armstrong, Dennis Armstrong, and Steve Armstrong.
Esta Louise Armstrong Johnson's life was a beacon of love, faith, and generosity. Her memory will live on in the hearts of those she touched, her loving family: her husband, Robert "Bobby" Johnson of Arabi, Georgia; her daughter, Claudette Armstrong (F. D. Lawton) of Cordele, Georgia; her sisters, Beulah Armstrong, Pernell Armstrong, Jackie Armstrong, and Cathy Edwards (Willie Palmer) all of Cordele, Georgia; her brother, Charles Daniels (Vivian) of Cordele, Georgia; her uncle, Curtis Armstrong of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; her sisters-in-law, Debra Appling Armstrong, Gloria Armstrong, and Gloria Ford (Charlie); her brother-in-law, Tony Johnson; a special niece and nephew, Latashia Armstrong and D'Vontra Armstrong both of Cordele, Georgia; her goddaughters, Tiffany Barthell, Falania McKensey, Laketha Kemp, and Carolyn Butts; her god sister, Magdalene Outlaw a host of nieces and nephews, including Selena, Lendra, Shonte, Takeyla, Tamra, Travinisia, Gwelda, Latashia, A'kyia, Reggie, Dereck, Steve, Carlos, Chris, Zytravion, Kevin, Adrian, Sierra, Vontae, Tabria, La'Chrissa, Tashiyonia, Tremyia, Stephanie, Tony, and Shonta; numerous cousins, other relatives, and many sorrowing friends, including a very special friend, Bernice Laster.
