Ms. Ella Gloria Tyner of 220 Academy Street, Americus, Georgia died Monday, June 12, 2023 at the Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany, Georgia.
The funeral service will be held Friday, June 16, 2023 at 1:00 PM in the sanctuary of the Allen Chapel AME Church in Americus, Georgia. The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.
On June 2, 1945, the Lord blessed the union of Mr. Willie Lee Tyner, Sr. and Mrs. Nancy Mack Tyner with a daughter. Born in Sumter County, Georgia, she was named, Ella Gloria.
She was educated in the public schools of Sumter County where she attended McCoy Hill School. A believer in the Lord, Jesus Christ, Ella united with the Allen Chapel AME Church in Americus, Georgia.
Everyone who knew Ella could attest to the fact that she was a "people person." She enjoyed planting her flowers. A true homemaker, she enjoyed cooking and didn't mind feeding anyone who wanted to eat. Ella will always be remembered as a person who loved having fun and dancing.
On Monday, June 12, 2023, she traded the cares of this life for a life free of pain and suffering. She is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Mrs. Ozzie Bell Angrish, Mr. Willie Tyner, Jr., Mrs. Mary Blue, Mr. Johnny Tyner, Mr. Thomas Tyner, Mrs. Carolyn Tyner Bateman, Mr. Samuel Tyner, Mr. Eddie Wade Tyner, and Mr. Eddie Dean Tyner.
Her life will forever be remembered by her loving and devoted children, Ms. Sharon Tyner Bartlett of Americus, Georgia, Mr. Henry James Tyner (Priscilla) of Atlanta, Georgia, Ms. Eleanor Tyner Clark of Albany, Georgia, Mr. Carlton B. Tyner (Tracie), and Mr. Walter C. McCoy (Laurie) of Albany, Georgia; 21 grandchildren, including her devoted, Ms. Kenyada D. Moore, Mr. Quentin Moore, Mr. Santavious Moore, and Mr. Di'Teyon Riley all of Americus, Georgia, Mrs. Tyericka Battle (Jerimah) and Mr. Robert Moore (Ny'Kita) of Albany, Georgia, and Mr. Terry Sims of Alabama; 18 great grandchildren; three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and many sorrowing friends, to include a devoted god son, Mr. Petri Lawhorn of Albany, Georgia.
