Mrs. Ella Ree Lockhart Green of Hampton, Georgia, formerly of Americus, Georgia, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, at her residence.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 22, 2025, at 3:30 PM in the sanctuary of Restoration Church in Americus, Georgia.  The burial will follow at the Eastview Cemetery in Americus, Georgia.

Mrs. Ella Ree Lockhart Green was born on May 15, 1944, in Schley County, Georgia. She was the cherished daughter of Andrew Lockhart, Sr., and Willie Mae Brooks. Raised in a loving family, Ella's life was a beacon of warmth and joy to all who knew her.

A devoted believer in Jesus Christ, Ella accepted Him as her Lord and Savior at Saint Paul Baptist Church. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her through challenges and triumphs. She continued her spiritual journey at The Restoration Church of Americus, where she found a community that shared her beliefs and values.

Ella was a woman of many interests. She had a fondness for Tyler Perry plays, with Madea being her favorite character. Her love for life was evident in her laughter, jokes, and music enjoyment. She had a unique affection for chewing gum and found joy in the simple pleasure of riding around sightseeing.

Ella's life was a tapestry woven with love, laughter, and faith. Her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched. Her life's journey concluded peacefully on Saturday, February 8, 2025. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alex Green, Jr., her special nephew, Walter Osbourne, and 12 of her siblings.

The memories of Ella's life will be cherished by her loving son, Jakavius Lockhart, whom she raised with immense love and care; her devoted caregiver and niece, Valerie Forrest and her children, Azariah, Ameerion, and Ja'Corian all of Hampton, Georgia;  her loving siblings, Ola Baisden, Leonard Lockhart, Annie Ruth Taylor, and Robert Lockhart, all of Americus, Georgia; her special nieces, Linda Berry, Shelia (Tom) Terry, Ethel (Willie) Lewis, Carissa Mann, Jayla (Riyanna) Boyce, and Jazmyne Boyce; her special nephew, James Mann; her special grandchildren, Legacy Brown and Jahkia Lockhart; a host of other nieces and nephews, including her devoted niece and nephew, Martha Sapp and Emmanuel Harper; a loving circle of other relatives and friends, including, Corey Carter, Cynthia West, and Alicia Williams.
